IF you could have your kids do better than you in one area of life,

what would you choose?

<Raising my hand and yelling "oooo">This one's easy. Keep them the hell away from Lit. It's so damn addictive.

No, seriously I would want them never to face war. It's time for real world peace.

As soon as we kick the shit out of terrorism:)

Tolerance......................................

My two kids are grown up now but the one thing I really harped on with them was to be more tolerant of people who are different. We spent much time discussing how goodness, even greatness can be found in people of ALL socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. I tried to make sure they looked deep into the soul of the person they were evaluating and not to judge on appearances, religion, political persuasions, etc.

It seems to have worked with them. They are well adjusted and get along with just about everyone they come into contact with and have a very diverse group of friends traversing barriers of color, religion, etc.

I really wish my parents had sat down with me and shared the same attitude with me. I took a long time to learn that and I am sure I missed out on many great friendships because of it.

But, hey, old dogs can learn new tricks too, eh? ;)

i want my daughter to love herself more than i have ever been able to love myself ~

Learn

I want them to learn to respect all people, all races, and all sexualities since our time here is fleeting.

Hmmmm

You have had me thinking about this all day.

Of course, the thread asked for one area of life, can I please chose them all?

We want so much for our children.........

I'd like for my son to have better luck with marriage. I did finally find the perfect husband (for me), but it took me three tries! :D

Neither of my children took up smoking (quitting was the hardest thing I have ever done but am getting close to two years smoke free).

My daughter not only graduated from college, she (and her husband) graduated from Medical School and are practicing Dr.s

My son is a professional bowler ( had his first 300 at 17 years old).

They are such wonderful human beings.........I am proudest of that.

Kids Future

To do whatever their hearts told them to do - without ANY parental influence, but with the proviso that they be the best that they can be in their chosen career.
