I realize I am showing my greenness here, but what is a troll?

I have seen it used in several threads and have been unable to determing exactly what it references. I can certainly tell it is something undesireable. Does it refer to the creature under the bridge? Or is it someone who aimlessly wanders from thread to thread. If it is the latter, then I am guilty.

As I write this, it seems more likely that it is referring to the creature under the bridge. Some one who lurks in the background looking for someone to pounce on.

For the record, I checked the FAQ section and even did a forum search and was unable to come up with anything that is definitive.

A troll is either 1) a preson who follows another person (or people) around from thread to thread haranguing them for one reason or another, or 2) a person who jumps into a thread and grabs one extreme of the discussion or anothre for the sole purpose of burning it to the ground.

Good to know. Thanks for the info.

Try writing a story for a Lit contest. You'll find out what a troll is real fast.

I'm not a writer nor do I pretend to be. Why would they fuck with you there?

Those aren't trolls. Those are people who wouldn't know good art if it walked up to them and stuck its dick in their eye.

For the record, you have a very cool avatar. I enjoy people with good tastes in the arts.

A troll, in my opinion, is someone who wants to say something to someone without using their own identity for fear of backlash.

The pettiness and outright sabotage that Lit authors have to deal with sometimes is truly insane.

This is why I stick to journalism, where all the feedback I get is completely polite and logically argued.

Interesting. That would be the one place on Lit that I would have thought would be the least affected by trolls.

*laughing and shaking head*

I was just trying to decide on a different AV when I read your post. I guess I will keep it for awhile.

Thanks
:D

By the way, I like yours too!
