So who's going to show up? I'll post my question in a bit. Being nosy first. LOL

I know a tiny bit, but if it's too intricate, I may have to call someone...

Question?

Shoot. I hate getting pudding on my face. LOL I keep reminding myself not to get so excited. Such a child. :D

Anyway, it's nice to see that someone else besides our Mr. Knight has some knowledge. :)

I'm wondering if there is such a thing as a sweet red? I've been lucky enough to find a wonderful sweet white, but I'm looking to expand my base. Preferably German, but pretty much any European would do for now.

First pudding, now a thunder storm. This blows. :(

I hope not literally. ;)

I do believe the majority of us have just been slammed. LOL.

Just order the house... you'll be fine. That's the extent of the advice I've been given, so I pass it on to you. Being a non-drinker it works for me.

You've got me there, cause when I *do* drink reds, I drink the drier Merlots, or Cabernet Sauvignons. I hear good things about the Beaujolais' - I hear they are sweeter. Or, I might suggest a White Zinfindel if you're really looking for sweet. I've drank a number of these and I enjoy them - less acidity - more fruity flavor.

Hope this helped.

Is there anything you're trying to pair it with Nance? It makes a difference

A zinfindel. Hmm. If you ever have the chance, try an Ortega. Auslese or Beerenauslese. Fantastic. :)

Ex, I was looking for something to drink on its own. Every once in a while I get the urge to delve back into wine. This is one of those times.

OK thats easier. Let me think on it a sec.

Thank you for the link. :) This might help, as the wine enthusiast site is no help whatsoever.

If you can find anything done with a Nebbiolo grape there really nice. If not they are urine

There is a realyy nice Spanish red Bodegas Balcona Partal Crianza that fits the bill

And any of the Cab Shiraz blends

I've just recently discovered the Shiraz - and I enjoy it as just a "drinkable" wine.

Yellow Tail is inexpensive enough to keep on hand, and is mild enough to enjoy while posting at Lit...

:D

I may pick up a beaujolais next time I'm on base. I happened to see some there as I was waiting for the guy to get the heck out of the way of the chocolate brotchen. :D

Nance... Beaulolais is so obvious (safe bet though and easily obtained). Where is your sense of adventure?

hey april,

don't know if you got my PM since i got a few error messages.

my dad is a sommelier and i know a fair bit of that stuff myself. just give me a shout if you need anything. :)

Andreina :rose:

You have no idea how limited our selection is here. I need to go hunting around for a good wine store. I mentione beaujolais because I saw it earlier today, and it's one that I can verify is available. Now, if you were to come over and help me out, that would be another thing altogether. :D

Andriena, thanks. I'll keep that in mind. :) My wine adventuring is quite slow. Kind of like dipping a toe into the pool and then needing a couple of weeks to decide if it's suitable or not! LOL

Any other suggestions are welcome. (pertaining to the subject, that is)
