I miss Napster

I'm on Morpheus now, pulling down some music. Its not the same as my old friend Napster.

On Napster I would bump into people to talk music with, turn people onto stuff I was into. Learn about music I would be unlikely to discover otherwise. I had a pool of friends on Napster that made it like a music lounge for me.

Morpheus and some of the other utilities may have some communication functions but its clearly not the same.

Have you tried WinMx? from what i understand, it's just like Napster. Not sure tho.. Husband does the downloading.. I just tell him what to download

winMX is a lot different from Morpheus. and Morpheus is a little easier to use, not to mention there's a lot more availability on Morpheus. and you dont have to update the servers.

I'm a big fan of Audiogalaxy Satellite. Most of the message boards are crap, but sometimes there's a true gem. And they do work hard to push unknown artists. Oh yeah..and you can set it up at home, and run it remotely from work. Nifty.

You might try KaZaA, it is similar to good ole Napster. I have downloaded a lot of music from their site.

Thanks for the feedback people. I have tinkered with all the programs mentioned but find Morpheus the best as far as speed and selelction.

(I guess I kind of miss Napster too - I actually think both Morpheus and Limewire are as good as, in some ways better than, Napster - but Napster was the first, it started the revolution.)

I use IMesh but it sucks when one minute the song you want it there and when you go back to download it, it isn't any more
