and it reminded me of my freinds from California as I was going down my checklist.
Plug in the old phone, the mobiles need electricity, that was the strange beeping. Call the power company. (If you have no phone, the bull got the pole again, it makes a good scratch post.)
Turn off the power back-up to the computer which is also beeping and the lights and the A/C and everything 'cause when the power comes back on, it sometimes surges and sputters for a while.
Quit turrning on the lights, stupid! You still can't see, the power is off.
Check the deep freeze, get something out for tonight, throw a Turkey in the fridge to help keep it cool and then put a hose to the freezer drain and fill the top with newspapers.
Get the lamps ready. Get the generator out...
No the fuckin' garage light doesn't work either stoopid!
oh well, you get the idea...
get a checklist ready...
