I am so BDSM kinky and off in my own world that for over nine months I was wondering why the concept of loving wives was so controversial? Vanilla, sweet, happy marriages? Romance? I only realized about two weeks ago that it was some kind of cheating trope. I wondered if anyone else took that category completely literally.

"Forgive me Father, for I have sinned." If you grew up Catholic, you'll never forget that. As for Loving Wives, I've been here for over five years and I can't remember what I thought about it in 2018. Probably I first became aware of the trope through comments made on the forums, particularly this one.

Oh yes I definitely grew up Catholic, I mean I have an intense spanking kink after all. I also only learned about this via the forums.

I sure did. Only recently began to get a sense for what was going on. I never read any of those stories, so I remained in ignorance.

Ignorance is bliss. The few good stories and authors and readers there are hanging by a thread and its not worth dealing with the filth that makes up the majority of what's there these days.

Wasn't that bad way back when, but it's gotten progressively worse, and the site seems to encourage rather than discourage the behavior and content there.

It's been a problem with the category since the beginning. If you look at the earliest LW stories that the search engine has indexed, you'll find the swinging, sharing, and swapping stories advertised in its description. But you'll also see hard cuckolding stories, unapologetic cheating spouses, literal loving wives (in the sense you expected), revenge stories and more.

You are not the first to make that mistake.

It's a snake pit, warped in a swamp, hidden in a forest, and covered by a ghetto.

Duly noted, but it's just covering the other quandaries and quagmires, so it's all camo, bro.
Having been raised in the inner city I object to you insulting the hood by comparing it to that putrid quagmire of incel vomit.

We street rats have standards ya know.

I don't want to take the time to research that category, but maybe you could just tell me what constitutes "filth" in a site dedicated to erotica?

If you read the description, it's supposed to be that and what you said- of course it's also one of the open sections because the genre is rather broad. The way it's handled, however is more ironic, the term Loving Wives has become an oxymoron.

LC thinks anytime anything bad happens to a fictional woman, if it might in any way make a person happy, it’s filth.

Have you seen any of the threads about it? The filth is the profliferation of Burn The Bitch stories where any time the wife does not wife shit, she pays for it, or she must be a Stepford wife. The husband has to be a mans man, not some simp soy boy.

Me too, but I am so BDSM- Femdom minded, I read very few stories here and can't recall having read LW stories.

You hit the keyword on 'erotica'...in LW its seen as erotic to have women who cheated to be tortured, beaten, raped, sold into trafficking, hooked on drugs, jailed, gang banged, etc....and also for the 'other man" to endure similar torture and abuse. That's what passes for 'erotic' to the nastiest faction there.

They're not the whole readership, but the loudest and most persuasive. They applaud the "Burn the bitch" stories with that content, and then they fill other stories with different content with comments about how all those things should happen then attack the author and any reader complimenting that story.

Lit has a rape rule, lit has a no torture for titillation rule, yet those stories fly right through and most often even reporting them doesn't work.

Hate is a kink in LW.

The people who defend it are either that type, or are trying to cling to the idea there's still enough decent material there to make it worth it. Sadly there is less and less of that as time goes on. Most legit hot wife cuck stories are now going into fetish where actual men who can separate fiction from their hate filled fantasies of violence against women, dwell.

You wear your hate like a second skin, it's as comfortable as old leather.

If bad things happening people(short of murderers rapists etc) makes you happy, then the shoe fits. Especially when its on an erotica site and not just a flat out work of fiction.

That's what you willfully ignore. There is nothing erotic in violence and hatred. I think you actually do get that, but you'd be a target to the LW ghosters here if you openly admitted it.

Meanwhile let a husband suffer some torture and the story will be pulled immediately. Ask Mr Pixel about his.

You seek the approval of that sorry lot, I don't, therefore I'm fine with calling it for what it is.

Ignore pretty much everything LC said. LW has been a quasi-erotic section for a while now, similar to SF/F, Novels, and (amusingly) Erotic Horror. Physical violence against women is not widely applauded there, although their affair partners are more often considered fair game. The stories where something truly awful happens to a cheating wife in the stories are few and far between; more often, a simple divorce that she doesn’t want, with fair distribution of assets is the most likely outcome.

Beyond that, while there are stories that focus on divorce/relationship drama, they’re far outweighed in number by the “classic” LW hotwife/sharing/swapping stories; they just don’t do as well in the scores because there are a LOT of LW readers, a sizable number of them are there for relationship drama, and they all vote. The typical relationship drama gets about four times as many views as a erotica-forward story in there, but only twice as many votes. The guys that read/vote on everything tend to ding them for a variety of reasons, not least of which is they want stories with solid characterization and plots, not just fun smut.

You wear your hate like a second skin, it's as comfortable as old leather.
No argument. Have to be good at something.

The crowd there thinks they know hate.

They haven't met it yet.

I met it decades ago, and openly embraced it.

To coin an old phrase if hating that type is wrong then may I never be right.

But if you're not an incel calling for the pain and torture of women or an abuser or 1950's knuckle dragger? I'm a real peach.

The last part of my line was stolen from Captain Pickard, "Hate becomes like old leather, quite comfortable to wear."

And you keep saying it’s a dedicated erotic section of the site even as you say there are other ones that are quasi-erotic. The only difference between the ones you deem quasi-erotic and LW is that you, personally, don’t want to categorize it that way or 90% of your arguments fall apart.

I don’t like the torture or murder as a general rule. I made an exception for my noir story, where the AP was a truly vile person; the wife was not physically harmed in that story. I made another for my Indecent Proposal one where, frankly, the wife was a plot device to put the protagonist and antagonist in conflict with each other; she also escaped unscathed.

It still cracks me up that you attack LW and NC/R while writing reams of incest fiction, with the excuse that, “well, mine is clearly fantasy.” Yeah, I’m sure plenty of incest survivors take solace in that.

Torture and murder are great for fiction as long as they aren't written as a love story in themselves. Nothing, outside BDSM stories, is sexy about torture.
