I have to make a confession

Non sexualized violence....in an erotic category.
Repeating the same lie again, I see.

But non sexualized to....you, or the type of person who wouldn't get off on it. But very sexualized by that crowd. Sick people get off on sick things
Yeah, like you! You should thank MediocreAuthor for guiding you to something to enjoy in your alone time.

Like the religious and political far right attempting to write erotic when every fiber in their being says, THIS IS WRONG.
The thing that's always struck me about Loving Wives stories of the "revenge against the cheating wife" type is that they're NOT erotic. Usually, the only thing sexy is when the virtuous cheated-upon husband finds a new woman who represents everything the cheating wife did not, and they have sex when enough time has passed to make it seem virtuous for them to do so. Even then, the sex isn't sexy. There's a moralistic pall over those stories that, to me, kills any erotic feeling.

Not since I spent years hanging around the GB have I seen someone reply so quickly to someone they don't agree with. Feel like I have a stalker.

As time moves on and this-and similar threads age and people look back, one of us is going to look foolish. Considering the downward spiral of the category and the exodus of the better crowd to more sane pastures, I'm pretty sure its not going to be me or the others who know the score there.

From what I've seen they're usually pretty good at it. Great catharsis for the hang ups their upbringing has forced upon them.

I'm willing to bet there's one in this thread...maybe not 'far right' but the religion. Got a saint secretly living as a sinner here.

I smell the repressed church kids a mile away.

Lovecraft, ole feller, you should be more specific so others don't think you're taking aim at them—or not entirely your choice.

Maybe. Not, I. I'm not repressed even though I'm a believer. Don't attend church, though. I believe in God, not religion.

I like in NTH's defense of the category where he lists the other types of stories he's making other people's points. The entire category is anti-woman. Just ranges from the extremely nasty BTB stories to 'softer" stories where the cheating wife loses in divorce court, etc etc....but the entire theme throughout is Husband good, honorable, virtuous, the perfect man, and the wife...always slutty and evil.

That's not erotic, its not a fetish, its a movement where thousands and thousands(second most viewed cat) of men-and no one is convincing me the readership there isn't at least 90/10 male come to shout in frustration at these horrible make believe women, cry out in glee when something unfortunate happens to them, and may whatever god you believe in help you if you write a story that as a reconciliation because then you're just cuck filth.

Club man baby where women haters everywhere come to play.
I'm sorry, if you open your eyes you'll see where much of that category is anti-man. Cuckholds, emasculated weak men who allow their wives to prowl and get into all kinds of mischief that destroys their marriage. Maybe a new set of reading glasses is what you need, it can't be projection of a deep seated hate of women can it?

I think Range Cold is kind of evidence against that. There is only one man in the story and a second one mentioned in passing. Both were cheaters, and no one sided with them.

The heroine of the story is a female, the entire story is told from her point of view, and the comments almost unanimously supported her.

If the category were strictly anti-women, wouldn't that story have done poorly? It didn't by the way, 4.53, which is high for that category, apparent.

Well, you would know about stalking, wouldn't you? And, for the record, I didn't look that one up; someone forwarded it to me after your last little tantrum about the category you love to hate (to secretly love). Made a lot of stuff you do on the forums and a lot of the nonsense you spout make more sense.

As to my speed at replying, I have ADHD, a job in computers, and a zillion tabs open all day. You're not special. Sorry.

If I'm too specific then I'm naming them.

I have never denied I like to tweak people, so the game is, I make the comment, they know it applies to them. I score, they know I did, but no one else does. Ends there.

But if you're afraid someone would think its you for some reason, its not.

But I stick by my experience of that type penning some wild stuff because when you're on the leash your entire life, when you slip it, its go big or go home.

You keep telling yourself that, keyboard warrior.

Actually, it's anti-human. Take superficial and unreliable characters, and imbue them with traits like sociopathy, psychopathy, antipathy, and racism. Phrase it pleasingly, and envelop it with a thin veneer of self-righteousness and hypocrisy, and you'll achieve a high score there.
What are you referring to?

Not to be that girl... But again, I'd argue that just because terrible, cruel stories are successful there, doesn't mean that only that is accepted. I mean... I keep bragging up Range Cold, but as my only entry in LW, it has almost none of what you described, (with the exception of hypocrisy... it openly claims hypocrisy) and yet it was very popular.

Don't swear off all movies, just because most movies suck.

Same with LW, I say.

I've heard so many bad things about LW I'm afraid to even go there, much less try to write a story for it. :)

I haven't read it, but I'm fairly certain it covers most of what I described. However, I doubt the authors will fully grasp the concepts.
Want to hear the irony? I was just about to defend Range Cold as having none of the traits you described... But on second glance:

Sociopathy ✅
Psychopathy❌
Antipathy ✅
Racism.❌
Self-righteousness ✅
Hypocrisy✅

So I guess you got me. Still I think I think that it deserves some leeway because
for a story with the potential for an incredibly violent outcome, it has almost no violence at all.

I purposely avoided mentioning violence, considering its potential as a vital artistic tool.
Whether intentional or not, you failed to address the most significant aspect, the one that always makes me squint when I encounter a highly-rated story in that category:
Superficial? In this instance, I would argue, no. The character of Elizabeth is not incredibly complicated or complex, but she does deal with anger, hurt, loss, jealousy, insecurity, and finally pride and self-sufficiency.

I mean, there's even subtext from her multiple times when she talks about one thing, but the reader knows she is clearly referring to something else.

Jason and Faye are a bit superficial as antagonists go, I suppose, but even they have suspicion, distrust, fear, anger, and a hint of lust.

For a <9k story, I don't know how much more characterization I could squeeze in.

Unreliable? Maybe... A bit? But not really. All of the information the reader receives from the characters is accurate, except for the lies told by the adulterer and his mistress... and the lies that Elizabeth tells to keep her plans secret.

Some readers have stated that they assumed Elizabeth was incorrect about the adultery in the first place... But that was partly intentional. I kept some of the information secret until the end, when it is revealed that she was correct all along.

I get that. Most categories, you know what you’re getting into when you click on them; if not, the tagline or opening few paragraphs of a story probably gives you an idea what to expect. And that can be true in LW, but it’s often not; from the start to the end, sone stories will surprise you in their twists and turns. It’s the anti-comfort food of Literotica in that way. Part of what makes writing in it so fun, but also the main reason the comments sections are bonkers and the scores are low.

Oh yes I definitely grew up Catholic, I mean I have an intense spanking kink after all. I also only learned about this via the forums.
If you look at porn tropes, there has been a connection between Catholicism and various kinks (many of them BDSM related) that goes back to at least to the 18th Century. I'm not doing a treatise on this, but I don't think it's as common with other religions. Oddly, the more recent pedophilia scandals do not apply much here. So, anyway, I'd guess that your kink was not necessarily caused by but was probably intensified by your religious training. You could look them up, they are very easy to find, or I could send some examples via a PM if you wish. Or maybe you already know all about this.

P.S.: Typos corrected.

TL; DR: I don't like apologetics. I'm fairly sure about it. Anyone drawn to that unpleasant place likely has a hidden anti-human agenda.
I never expected to see TL;DR on a literature site, but whatever.

If my response was too long, you definitely wouldn't enjoy the actual story. It's WAAAY longer

Haha
