optimistic and postive person in the world. I rarely let things get the best of me. I have had a few days from Hell and it seems like there is no end in sight. I never get depressed, but there are a lot of real life things going on right now that are bringing me down.

I just wanted to know what you do to bring back the good vibes and feel better. This never happens to me. Seriously.

I try to make somebody else's day.

I don't believe in karma, but I pretend like I do. It actually seems to work.

Sometimes you just have to ride it out. Take time for yourself, and don't feel bad about feeling bad.

nice to see you :)

going thru this stuff sucks.. ive been there, and around again, a few times.. i think its usually sticking close to those people i know love me, and will always be there, is what usually brings one thru it.. your true friends are invaluable..

yeah, and go do things you like.

Just wait it out. Keep telling yourself "this too shall pass." It always seems stupid at the time, but it's always been true in my experience. Having some random person say or do something nice doesn't hurt.

That's a very compeling avatar you have there, Ms. hlgwv.

sweetie, if the things that are bringing you down are within your control then do something to change them. make a plan and attack the problem a bite at a time. if they are not withing your control then try your best to separate yourself from them as much as you can and trust that things will get better.

S.D.- thanks

WaxNWane - thank you

girly - you always say the right things. :)

St4nton - nice to see you, too. And thanks. ;)

Kotori - thank you for the advice and compliment. It's my sad girl AV. Funny, I've never had to bust her out before. :)

Guilty Pleasure - there's a song by that name that I always use to get through.

Uncle J. - perfect. :)

oh yeah, get some jack johnson to listen to.. its upper music. and really good.

My song for the downer mood

If I am down I pull out the good ol oingo boingo song "Just Another Day".

Just gotta love the Elfman's music running along with the drums of the wild.

Being with friends helps, and doing something you never thought you would do, giving yourself a rush is always a good pull yourself out of the dump.

But as some people have said some personal down time is good for your soul now and then.

Be content in knowing you will be back into your normal self sooner than later. If not my Barbie AV will find you.

I pity the fool who messes with my AV

I'm cool. That Barbie scares the shit out of me!! :D

You know there's nothing wrong with listening to music, even if it's "moving". It doesn't hurt to get in touch with your feelings. Just make sure that the feelings you have are internally centered not something that is being forced on you from the outside. Once you've identified that they are external - brought about by something you can't control, then you can refuse to let them control you. I had a pretty shitty day today myself, but you know what, I'm not letting anyone keep me down. I refuse to let that happen.

Beautiful. I'm gonna have to remember the way you put that...:)

BTW, happy music brings me down more when I'm depressed. Sad music usually makes it better because it makes me feel less lonely in whatever I'm going through.

Agreed on the music - some great Smiths songs for that mood (thinking "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" for one); Tom Waits, The The (Soul Mining, especially), Mozart (Requiem), Cowboy Junkies (Trinity Sessions)...

Well from someone who has been way down lower than I thought possible several times in the past couple weeks, I can tell you what I've done.

I talked to my niece on the phone. The simple elegant innocent beauty of a 3 year old telling you she loves you and wishing you a good nigh nigh is always a smile.

My friends stuck by me and told me that even though I was a schmuck and fucked up, they were still my friends. They still believed in me. That helped immensly.

Then there is the hope of a brighter tomorrow. Watch the sunrise, that is huge for me. Seeing that bright sun slide slowly into the sky, bringing the promises of a better day, the hope of a happier time. If my tunnel gets too deep and too dark, I let the sunrise show me there is a light at the end.

You laying on top of me?

Hey Hotlittlegirlwv...

You know you've always got my positive vibes cooking your way. Ride it out m'dear. Besides with these low times, you know that your higher times will seem THAT much better. Hang in there.
