I am a Maestro with 38 years in this lifestyle

I feel like a military academy... Bits of me keep passing out!

(spending a day charging around is fun but I feel it afterwards!)

I am a completely jaded, rather discontented, self-deprecating, polyamorous, bisexual switch with strong Right-Libertarian leanings (though I am a nature lover and a pagan, go figure).

I have about 13 years of experience in being an apostate from Christianity. Does that count?

I am also a cantankerous, parsimonious old fart with an occasional wish to just go Galt.

Ayn Rand promises good blowjobs. Those ruby-red, anti-communist lips of hers... watch out she don't bite it off though.

How the hell have you been, you sumbitch :rose:

Every time I see this thread pop to the top of the page, I think "Ohhhhh that poor man. He had no idea what he was getting into."

I am a lingerie nerd... but we all already knew that.

I am a mole and I live in a hole!

And yeah, maybe we've given this thread enough stick now?

Nah

What? No, not enough stick. Never enough stick! :p

To the OP:
If you haven't already done so, just abandon this account and start a new one with a new name, and a little less... pretention. -Don King of Lit, me- :D
We're not a bad lot, you just strummed us funny.

Now, on with it! This is an enjoyable thread, after all. :)

Alright. How are you?

Personality wise, I suspect that I would have gotten along better with Heinlein than with Rand, but I could be wrong. Anyway, going Galt is a fantasy. It's not realistic for most people. Tempting, but the average Joe could never manage it these days. It's a relic of the frontier, little more than that, and mainly works for people rich enough to leave the modern world behind or perhaps religious communities willing to pool their resources (oops, how did that socialistic idea pop in my head?..).;)

Silly literalist right leaning libertarian. Don't you know it's not a place, it's a place within?

Every time you sidestep an idiot in a meaningless hierarchy (like a corporation, oh the irony) and give them all the space they need to self-destruct you're doing it right.

I'm a halfassed socialist. I don't like humans enough for that. I also don't like capitalism enough to suffer its fools.

That's a rather different take on going Galt, but then, I'm drawn to the idea of being a hermit at times. If I had the money, I don't know if I would quite go Galt in the literal sense, but I would certainly find some place outside of the hustle and bustle. Some place like Alaska or my native West Virginia, where one can find wilderness still and a cabin or something like that. Preferably with a two or three lovers who wish to share that escape with me.

Don't know what it was with Rand. The Fountainhead seems to be a rather strident work of fiction, as much to make a point as to tell a story, and it seems to have angered people badly enough for at least one screenwriter to put it in a scene in Dirty Dancing in the hands of the bad guy, Robbie. Guilt by association, etc. The not-so-subtle message intended is that only pricks like him read such books and agree with them.

What's wrong with Rand?

Alan Greenspan, for an instance, is what's wrong with Ayn Rand. Men who have confused her fiction with real life-- and who have the power to make it so.

And the seven zillion feckless white boys who can't figure out that their personal philosophy of selfishness is utterly contingent on the money of their parents.

I would say that the fact that they agree with her is what shows them to be pricks. By their contemptible actions we shall know them. :(

Goddamn it!

I saw this thread had reached a hundred posts and came running back with my pad and pen, figuring the OP had returned and was doling out advice as only a maestro can, but.....

Now I see all that's here is a bunch of haters mocking his greatness.

Sigh.....I hope you people are happy now, he will probably never return. :(

The man came in claiming to be the honey badger of Doms. If he can't handle some blowback, then he's in the wrong place.
