Hey everyone,
In just a few hours my youngest daughter, my baby, will be twenty one years old. I'm feeling mushy here. I keep having mental images of a beautiful redheaded brown-eyed baby snuggling against my breast, her sweet little voice, "rocky me Mommy" as she climbs into my lap. *sigh* They grow up too fast!

I've been asked if it makes me feel old to have all of my children adults. Nope, it doesn't. I am happy to say my children and I are friends. They keep me feeling young.

I just wanted to say to all of you with kids, they can be a big pain sometimes, but appreciate them while they are small, they grow up in the blink of an eye.

I am declaring this weekend 'Hug a Kid Weekend' if you don't have one of your own, hug a neice or nephew or a friend's kid. Don't worry about dirty little hands, they wash, and believe it or not, some day you will miss having handprints all over the windows and furniture, not to mention your clothes.

I just huged and kissed my new little granddaughter...she's so sweet!:)

Right now my house is a filthy mess.. dirty hand prints and nose prints on the windows...dirty feet prints on the floors.. AND I DON'T CARE!

I have 8 kids here this week.. 3 more will be here later. We are planning a huge birthday celebration for 2 of those children. My babies (the 2 youngest) are now 7 and 12.. Yes, children grow up fast. And I seriously hate it.

My 15 year old son is taller than me.. and yet he sat on my lap the other night. He told me he missed being rocked. I rocked him and enjoyed just holding him again (This is the son that won't hug or kiss me in public..)

I hug my kids everyday.. even when they aren't here. :)

Thank you for this thread.. I needed it today.

There's a 7 year old that I am longing to give a hug too!! I will hopefully see him this weekend.:D

You're welcome sweetheart. My 'little' boy is 6' 2", on the rare occasion I get to see him we have to settle for cuddling on the couch.

Someone gave me a needle point once with this;

Cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
For babies grow up I've learned to my sorrow
So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my babies and babies don't keep.

I give my little ones kisses and hugs several times a day. As a matter of fact, my daughter just got a hug and kiss right after a lecture about responsibility. I always combine hugs and kisses with lectures. That way they know I still love them, even if they just got in trouble.

My two older children are starting pre-school next week. I am trying very hard not to freak out because they are growing up too fast. This thread didn't help! ;)

Good thing I still have the baby to go home and snuggle with. :)

I didn't mean to make anyone feel bad! Besides, when they start school it is just the beginning of a wonderful new set of memories!

You're a good Mommy, and after they are grown they will see the lectures as a sign of your love too!

My two wonderful kiddos are coming in for the weekend!!!! Big hugs for them both all weekend long. Damn I miss them so much and so often.

I hugged an kissed my son untill he was 10. Not to macho Dad! So all my huggs and kisses were diverted to my daughter! I still tuck her in with a hug and a kiss everynight at age 12!

Now I have hugs and kisses for a new grand daughter. From my son!

I still get a hug from him, but rarely. But I am real proud of him and his accomplishments.

Congrats on the grand daughter #1tank, and I bet your son will like hugs again. Boys seem to go through a "it's not cool to hug my Dad" time. Do you tell him how proud you are of him? Never assume your kid knows how you feel, tell them.

Daddys are very special to us girls, I lost my Dad in '98, I miss his hugs. Keep on squeezin' your daughter!!

you can give them enough...

I have 3 children. A son 20, a daughter 18 and a son 5. my 5 yr. old started kindergarten this week so even though i was always hugging him i think we both have been a little extra generous with them this week. my daughter isn't home much but when she is there is always a hug waiting for her. my 20 yr. old isn't overly affectionate but it still amazes me that he never leaves the house without hugging me and telling me he loves me. him and his friends will even come in where i work and even thoguh they are with him he's not too embarrassed to still show affection. It would be a very lonely life if you didn't have someone to hug or share your love with and i hope anyone with children realizes the gift they have been given.

I have no kids of my own, but there is a certain little 17 month old heiferbeast duckling in the Baltimore area that I would love to give a big old hug too!;)
