So, she thinks that women need to know what to do in the event we have to live with a Taliban-esque regime. The woman was saying that we would need to show that we could be good submissive women. We would need to be able to take a beating from our husbands. Husbands would have to learn to treat their wives accordingly.

Talk radio has an ingenious knack for generating discussion for ludicrous ideas.

It was said before but its worth noting that most American men do NOT want women to be treated like sub-standard citizens.

I wouls also note that the treatment of women in Afghanistan was a function of the Taliban's power play, not a tenent of Islam. In many other Muslim nations women are professionals, involved in government, etc.

That's what I was thinking during the program. But they were assuming a Taliban victory and then a Taliban Islamic regime.

Well, then they are just nuts.

Actually the music that keeps me awake is strange Broadway show tunes, Violent Femmes, Erasure or old DM. I think the Little Shop of Horrors soundtrack is normally the best bet.

I roll the windows down(if alone) and play something bass driven like Crystal Method or Roni Size. The Femmes' first album is a great one for this, maybe skip "good feeling". As far as your other choices....you're a weird one(in a good way).
