How to sleep better

Getting a blackout sleep mask about a year ago has drastically improved the quality of my sleep. I have one of those comfy padded ones with insets for your eyes.

My little psychotic adventure last year had an upside: seroquel. OMG! That shit is like anesthesia.

I've found that I'm fine with 5 hours of sleep for a couple of days, but have to catch up with a couple of days of 6-7 hours. I can do 6 hours forever. I go to and stay asleep easier when I've properly managed expectations of everyone I deal with, so I'm completely at peace. A dark quiet room where I feel comfortable helps, as does a warm, soft, naked partner. I'm pretty active, and some exercise during the day definitely helps.

Way back in the old days, a "red" (seconal) and a "yellow" (nembutol" could put you to sleep fast and keep you asleep long enough, but you woke up groggy and stayed that way for a few hours. Inner peace and a quiet place is the ticket for me.

I've never had and issue sleeping nor have I experienced PTSD.
I wish my relaxation to sleep would help others.
And next to eating and cooking sleep is my favorite part of the day. As of late having time to let the body sleep and wake on its own time has been one of life's simple pleasures.
The best I can tell I am about 7 hours. Sometimes I wake once to pee. In the morning when I wake up to pee it is difficult for me to stay out of bed and get up. If I do go back to bed I will wake up 4 hours later.
When it is summer time and the AC is on I can fall back to sleep in the night. But in the morning falling back to sleep is not the same as in the 'heat is on months'. I'm not sure if is the AC. It may be I am more likely to do something outside and I want to be up.

This won’t apply to everyone obviously… but if some of your awakenings are because your back hurts, take a pain reliever before bed.

It’s not that it fixed everything for me, but it has definitely made a noteworthy improvement, easily one to two less awakenings per night than before for me.

I take something when I am aching and sometimes when I want to make sure to get a good nights sleep. You also wake up with less aches!

Are there any adverse effects?
Sleeping 16 hours was the main problem and my GP dropped the dose and that improved.

It's known to cause overeating, particularly at night, but I've always been fat so who knows how much of my periodic binge-eating is from being a natural fatass VS the meds.

I have had trouble sleeping. I have been using melatonin with mixed results.

What works for me is playing nature sounds. My favorite is Thunderstorms.
I don't play it loud, but loud enough I can hear it distinctly.
It's relaxing and soothing. Helps clear my mind of racing thoughts.
These sounds are available at Amazon and come in 4 or more hours of continuous play.

I take melatonin from time to time, but a mix of audiobooks and rain/ocean ASMR sounds work wonders for me. The Silmarillion read by Martin Shaw is my favourite.

Sleep disorders run in my family, sadly. My sleep disorder got a lot better in my early 30's. I still need to take Elavil (sleeping pill) twice a month or so. Good luck!

I take a warm shower before bed, use eyeshades, cold room, loop earplugs, a couple of iPhones programs “rise”’to track sleep and set my bedtime, Breethe for the sleep tracks ( stories or sounds), Amazon music sleep station, and some times Bach rescue sleep gummies, Ativan or Ambein.
Avoiding screens or thinking about things I can’t change, also avoiding thinking about former cyber guys.
Sometimes I listen to Byroninexile’s favorite choral music and pretend I’m falling asleep with him again.

Good morning
I too suffer from insomnia and know how much it sucks when you can't get to sleep at night. So here are a few things that I have found that have sometimes help me sleep.
1) I walk or work out in the evening so by the time I get to bed I'm exhausted
2) I turn on soft like music meditation for sleep while I get ready for bed.
3) If these three things don't work I masturbate and cum a few times which usually puts me to sleep.
Overall I just hope that you find some kind of solution to help you sleep better!

Just my two cent here,I know a couple of people who"ve had success with a slightly inconventional method. They have their mistress use a very calm but firm and authoratative tone to basically 'order'them to unwind, relax each musle, and give them permission to switch off.yes,it sound strange but surrendering that mental control to a trusted one'DOM' can really help the brain shut down for a deeper sleep.
and before you talk down on my method know that in the military i have been privileged to witness lot of method usage to cure people that hospitals cant

This is very interesting. My wife is my Domme, but I also don’t wanna wake her up in the middle of the night when I join the 3 AM club. Sometimes I edge for about an hour without cumming. This may seem very counterintuitive, but I’m able to have great body contractions and what I call body orgasms from long-term edging.

Not the same as an ejaculation, but i’m able to achieve nice body contractions and relax. It often helps.

We also listen to a Lofi sleep chill channel and put the timer on for two hours which also helps.
