How far would you go?

Re: 1 Day = 3 miles

According to chapter 3, "Tips from the Experts and Know-It-Alls", in the Internet, Online, and Long-Distance Relationship Guidebook (2002, Houghton-Mifflin) the rule of thumb is that for every day you have been dealing with a person that you are considering seeing in person multiply those total days by 3 miles [3.2 kilometers].

So, if you have been dealing with someone for three months (90 days) and are wondering what to do, well, if that person is within 270 miles this rule of thumb says go-for-it.

Of course, there are other factors to take into account and some good advise on how to handle it all, too, in that volume.

Math buddy says three statute miles is about 4.8 kilometers.
Maybe they don't Know-It-All;)

Well, I would meetcha halfway...but you don't have a starting point listed in your profile...nor an age. *looks pointedly at you*

A not so subtle way to learn more

I appreciate the offer, though

I've turned down tickets to Texas and a trip to St. Thomas.. I regret doing so now. I wish that I were brave and daring enough to have taken that chance. I may never know now.

To the end of the earth and beyond...no distance is too great....if my heart says "go", I'm there....

Ahh...but it must have been too subtle for you to pick up on the reference to bulk up your profile...hmm...back to the drawing board. :)

For her? I'd travel the universe.

I met wife 2.0 online. I was in NYC, she was in Idaho, that was over 10 yrs ago now. My first trip out to meet her was a comedy of errors, an epic tale that made National Lampoon's Vacation look silly in comparison. But it was the smartest thing I ever did. 10 yrs later and I look forward to every day of the rest of my life with her.

I think I would just sit atop my jeweled throne and wait for them all to come to me.

*sigh* I've been awaiting a long time.

Sounds like me but I have to say Canada is looking good.

Between me wanting to spend time with him and my little one wanting to watch him play hockey a trip may be needed soon.

Some things are better shared one on one:rose:

We Canadians have that effect on women...who are far away. It is when they meet us up close and personal...well...thats a different story...we have nice teeth, and we can pull them out of our pockets and show them to you...

You are fantastic.

I think maybe its the hockey that allows you to store your teeth in your pocket. I know he got hit a week or so ago in the mouth and had a loose molar for a bit.

I have flown from Vermont to Louisiana twice, and am going again in May.

Mr. Temptress has been from Vermont to West Virginia, and to Pennsylvania, and once we went to Pennsylvania together to meet people.

I've also met people when I've gone to places for conferences, such as Kansas City and Washington, DC.

Now I just need to win the lottery, and I'll travel more often.

So far I've traveled from Denmark to the following places to meet friends in:

Germany
Ireland and Holland (to meet a group of people who all like to read Robert Jordan, and meet a week each year to have fun and read)
Massachusetts (3 times so far, going again in May)
Germany (twice to meet two different friends, one who is German, and an American who's stationed there)
Georgia

I'm off to KC in on the april 3rd to meet someone been chatting to for about 5 months now...we are all going camping in the ozarks for a wiccan thing :D should be fun...first time I have ever done something like that to meet friends. But moved from one end of Fl to the other to be with my now husband and 11 yrs later damn did I do the right thing it only gets better. But of course that was after he and I had to been to hell and back together in one way or another it took him 3 yrs to get me there though :nana:

Far
