I am curious about your workout routines, please share what works for you and what does not work for you. I tweek my routine a lot and am interested in learning more about what works for others. I am always looking for new and easier ways to keep my shape while making my workout more interesting and fun. Here is what I currently do ......

I workout 5 days a week in the early mornings before work.....After loosening and stretching I follow this routine.

30 minutes on the StairMaster Climber following a moderate, hard, very hard hiit routine......usually 3 2 1 but it varies at times.

The next 30 minutes I do circuit training using body sculpting exercises rotating between legs, butt, tummy, and chest......

The last 10 to 15 minutes is spent going slow on the StairMaster Climber listening to Beyonce', thinking about the day in front of me, sex, and enjoying how the workout has made me feel.

Thanks for any responses in advance...........:):):)

Hi Pink! I started a thread just for this a month ago, we would love you to participate and help encourage us.

Currently I'm working out using P90X, so I follow the DVD's. I work out at 5 am then three days a week in the evenings I do the AB exercises.

What I can help you with is what is your goal? Are you happy where you are at?

The reason why I ask is the body will get used to what you're doing. Its good to change up the type of exercise you're doing every 30 days.

I do a lot of variety and cross fit type exercises. But generally I split my week up with 3 days cardio and 3 days weights / resistance. A typical run may go something like this:

Warm up jog
18 minutes race pace run
4 min rest
3-5 suicide sprints on 30 seconds rest
30 burpees
3-5 suicide sprints on 30 seconds rest
20 burpees
3-5 suicide sprints on 30 seconds rest
10 burpees
800 meter cool down jog

Weight / resistance training varies but an example of a crossfit type workout is as follows:

75 push ups
75 sit ups
25 bodyweight squats (aka: air squats)
25 squat thrusts
50 burpees
25 star-jumping jacks

50 push ups
50 sit ups
13 bodyweight squats
13 squat-thrusts
25 burpees
13 star-jumping jacks
13 box jumps

25 push ups
25 sit ups
25 bodyweight squats
25 squat thrusts
13 burpees
25 star-jumping jacks

This could be superset with bench press, incline press, curls, etc. for maximum effect.

I have heard the P90x is a very good routine, I know some of the guys at work are on it, the results are showing.

I am very happy with my shape and workout just wanting to learn what other people are doing and what is working for them. I agree about the body getting systematically tired of the same routines, that is why I tweek mine all the time.

My goal to keep my shape forever.......:):):)

I'm with you, PTK.

I like to mix it up...keep surprising those muscles. I alternate my runs...I'll sprint, slow run, sprint and so on for five miles. other days I just head for 5 miles.

I do plyometrics & yoga and change the days and routines.

Shaun T's Insanity workout is freakin' crazy but you become addicted to it.

:)

So I anxiously opened this thread up thinking we were going to be talking about truly working IT out! IT was was supposed to be like horniness ... not exercising.

But at least perks put down "keep surprising those muscles". I do that with my dick all the damned time!

Hadn't thought of those muscles.

But now I am...

I mix swimming whenever I can, which is about 4 times a week...with sit-up and crunch routines at home. Swimming gets everything going... :)

See there! You just needed a little nudge in the right direction.

Actually to be fair to PTK and the original intent of this thread, having had back problems in the past I do about an hours worth of stretching and calisthenics in the morning, switching them around every other day. Then after work I do a 2 mile run/walk but I change the place I do that every day so it doesn't get monotonous. It's nice living in an area where there's a ton of parks and trails and warm weather year round to be able to do that.

Now ... back to my more important muscle! :D

I think you are correct. I think along with a healthy diet, and a good sound exercise routine, being sexually active is also important in maintaining a healthy balanced life style....

Certainly gives you something to think about while your sweating your ass off doing regular exercises! ;)

I don't have anything too complicated ....I try and get in 45 minutes daily on the treadmill , walking and running intervals...sit ups and lifting weights a bit....on the weekends I love playing racquetball and during the summer I absolutely love to play tennis.

You mentioned most of the trouble areas except for the arms. You will want to make sure that you do some light tricep pressdowns or kickbacks just to keep the arms firm and not get any underarm flap. :D

I sneak some arm V raises in to the chest workout, I only use 5lb weights I am sure you do the same exercise but with a lot more weight.......:)

As mentioned by others already, the best thing is just to throw a little variety into your workout from time to time to keep the body "shocked" and presenting new challenges. That will maximize your workout time.

But it seems like you already do the core things to being healthy and staying fit: having a good diet, exercising and proper amount of sleep.

2 yoga practices a week; one for flexability, one for cardio. 1 Bowflex session a week for an hour of mainly core and upper body; 1 treadmill session a week for an hour. In season 2 walking golf games and hiking. I like having the variety.

cycling once a week - about 10 miles
Body pump once a week
Boxing classes three times a week

Prob need to do more stretching type stuff like yoga!

I think the key is to find something you enjoy doing and try and keep it up when life gets busy

That is the reason I changed from after work to before work workouts, I came up with the most moronic reasons not to go to the gym....Now I only have one reason not to get out of bed and workout, if I have company in my bed is the only reason....:):)

Company in your bed is by far THE BEST reason to work out ....... just not at the gym, LOL.....A good 30 minutes of fun in the bed will do the heart good!

Besides that, the shower afterwards can be more enjoyable as well.

It is an interesting read. I think you need more than 7 minutes a day to stay healthy myself, but it is another opinion.
I agree with you. I do not think 7 minutes a day is going to get someone that is not in shape into shape......

I did click on the diet rating........I did not read all their conclusions because I believe there is only one diet that will ever work. Diets are not devised for people to lose weight, they are devised to make other people money..... The only diet that will ever work is to change your lifestyle and eat healthy......If you eat healthy there is not an end to a diet to worry about and no goal weight to worry about; just a new you when you realize with exercise and eating healthy your body found its appropriate weight.....Just my opinion.....:):)

I always do the same routine every day (creature of habit). Warm up and stretches, then I do my chest, triceps, back, deltoids, biceps. Takes about half an hour. Then I run for 45 minutes and perv at women. :D
