Goodness it's below zero and the winds taking the chill factor wwaaayy down the Farhenheit scale.

The wood fire is going....holy shit I got to go out for more wood. Well, the poor dog's gotta go pee anyway. Hope he doesn't get pee icicles....it's happened before.

I disconnected the drier vent so it would blow in the house....need the humidity and the hot air sure doesn't hurt the basement. This is a weird probably Mainah thing, I know but hey, in January you do what you got to do. Hope it doesn't blow like bad ions out or something.

Next I'll get the crock going. It warms up the kitchen and smells soooo good all day.

Don't get me wrong...I've got a tight house and an oil furnace. It's just really damn cold out there.:p

mmmmm, there is the matter of that electric blanket on the bed.

Makes me sweaty.:p

1) Take all your clothes off.

2) Run around outside for ten minutes.

3) Go back inside the house and then you'll be lovely and warm.

:)

Funny thing about this is it's true.

Well, not the nudity thing. I'd need boots. Too much snow.

But I do find when it's really, really cold I don't feel it as bad as some of those damp days in the twenties. But I feel it inside. The air is warm but everything you touch in the house is cold.

Bbrbrbrbrrrrr

Someone told me yesterday to quit my bitchin' about the cold and snow and find something fun to do outside.

Guess where he's from?

Yep. Sunny California.:D

lol@the dog peeing icicles!

I know just what you mean. My furnace is all screwed up (suprise, suprise!) and I'm having to use space heaters. I have to wear long johns under my leggings and a long knee length sweater and I keep a throw wrapped around me if I'm sitting still for any length of time. My hard wood floors are like ice and my nipples could cut glass.:D
Sometimes if I try really, really hard, I can turn on the oven and open the door, sit down in front of it, and pretend I'm at Trails, in front of the fireplace. Yep...thats how I stay warm.:p

I prefer to do the whole sharing body heat with another person thing. :D ... but other ways to stay warm, lots and lots and lots and lots of blankets. I have kind of a strange habit of not turning off the heat in my bedroom. (It only gets about 20 degrees at coldest here though) .. and then snuggling up under tons of blankets. I love the feeling of it being cold outside and being all warm under the blankets.

I bought a heated mattress pad for the holiday for myself. I turn it on before climbing into bed so the mattress gets warm and turn it off when I climb in. The down comforter takes over and I am in cozy heaven.

Freezing is a rare concept here, but my toes get cold. I usually have socks and slipper on to help.

We have a gas fireplace and I love the intense heat of it. I use the hot tub when I get cold all over.

The hat is a good idea, Plasticman. I'll try that next time.

:)

It's nice and warm here today in Austin. But for the last few weeks I was wearing longjohns and sweatpants.

We've had unusually cold weather (Siberian air) for the last few weeks. It's -24*C (-11*F) including the windchill. A roaring fire in the fireplace, curling up on the sofa under a warm blanket, hot soup on the stove and a warm body, mmmm!

I look at all the fabulous av's put up by SW and stroke the living hell out of my throbbing cock

Can you believe it?

Here I am in Vermont, and a couple days ago some complete fool went to a local convenience store wearing a skirt, and proceeded to pull out Mr Happy in the zero degree weather and flashed people.

Must have been a native Vermonter, it woulda killed any recent transplant.

I guess that's another way to generate heat!

How do I stay warm?

I snuggle over against Bluesboy. He's like a built-in furnace.

Sharp nipples are titillating, ya' know.

I know about the cold in southern homes. It seeps right into you even when it isn't subzero.

Course I know how thin that blood can get livin' down there.

Once in Fl. I lived without central heat. On a cold spell we cranked the oven and put a fan in front of it to blow the air through our cottage.

It worked. At least as long as we had it on.:D

If I could hibernate that's where I'd be at. Give me a nest to neslte under anyday.
