How do you imagine the board? Use a little bit of imagination, close your eyes and think of Lit. What do you see?

For me it's like spending an afternoon and an evening just relaxing and talking with a bunch of friends. Depending on the nature of the conversation it could be in someone's lounge or in a bar.

What about you?

A one star restaurant/bar in a small town.

People stop in and chit chat. Some sit at a table in the corner watching others and waiting to be noticed.

Others never sit down and wander from table to table flirting, gossiping and sharing daily news. In the back room, couples hook up and play for a bit.

The intellects and cognitive gurus gather to the left where in they discuss politics, pentameter, religion etc.

Laurel bartends and as good a bartender, she has a willing ear and intervenes in times of severe discord. She also remembers our tastes and what drinks we prefer. Sometimes she surprises us with something we didn't order, just because she knows it is what we will most enjoy.

Manu is in the office in the back, making sure that the place runs smoothly.

Some stop in once or twice, find themselves bored and leave. Others show up at opening time, plant their ass on a stool or chair and only leave when they have no choice.

Occasionally, the spouse or SO stops in to see what takes their partner away for a bit of time each day. *Waves to Mr Oughts*

Sometimes, a ruffian comes in, just spoiling for a fight. Then leaves, and watches what he has stirred up from outside the door. (KR 1? )

A collage of people meeting for whatever reason each meets. A bit like Cheers perhaps?

Hey Normie!!!!!!!

Great images, MissTaken.

I'd be at the bar. That's were you get a bit of everything.

Of course I support Liverpool! My father took me to the Kop (Liverpool supporter's stand at Anfield) when I was a kid. It was like a religious thing. 'Look on the Shankley Gates my son, and you'll never walk alone.'

The trading floor of the NYSE.

Or the Japanese parliament mid-fight.

Are you suggesting that we are chaotic?

I always raise my hand before posting.

I can't picture it as an actual place..... But I have thought of saying NORM!! when I see some people appear... Not telling who.

It actually does seem like a "place" though, a little island in the midst of the huge cyber space.

I cherish that, a chance to be seen as a real person that matters and not another blip on the mainscreen of a person who sees little blips all day long.....

I see it totally different since the first time I chanced in here, it's more friendly, inviting, playful.

The cool purple/blue browser colors don't hurt either! :)

I think more like the coffee shop off "Friends". Comfortable furniture and waky conversation at times. Also a space for Rhys and Nigel etc to come play their music and poets to give readings. I'm sure there is a couple of back rooms for other activities ;)

It's a freakshow. It's an island for misfit toys. It's a monkeyhouse.

It's fun. :)

The way I see it...

Was something like a thread Awesome AusTess started about six weeks ago or more. "If Lit Were a Town". Posters told us which part they would play.

I see it more like a village with 1-200 permanet residents. A real community. The major attraction is this giant Free Sex Library with a small gallery & "toy shop" attatched. There's a live theatre & a singles club, too.

It's located just along this huge superhighway, with strangers stopping by all the time.
Most of the villagers are authors, artists, poets, & people who just love sex. They usually do their best by each other.
