I think it is a sad comment on society when we have to wear cellphones on our ears 24/7 and can't communicate with anyone unless we text them. Well it's not so much we can't communicate, our hours are different. I work early morning, he works late night. Texting (and this is IMO) is no different than calling for some. Same principal.. you're still using a phone.
And you're not an old fuddy duddy... you're just age-challenged.
