Easy answer, the economy was booming! Unemployment was under 5%, The economy didn't fall apart till a year after the Dems won the House and Senate. It actually started to decline right after the minimum wage increase went into effect.

The economy fell apart following the housing bubble burst and foreclosures crippled lenders, credit, and spending power. Blaming the recession on minimum wage workers making a few more cents per hour is a novel concept I've never heard before though.

Yes, the minimum wage raise was part of the problem.

Commodity ceilings and floors are classic Broken Windows systems/sophism/fallacies.

They have the political value of an immediate benefit for a particular group that can be portrayed as victims and most of the general population is so uneducated of the economy as a whole that they look no further than benefit and reject and person(s) who point out the unintended consequences as people of insufficient feeling for the plight of the "victim" group.

But John Forbes Kerry was the wrong person to use to fight for the downtrodden and oppressed...

And, he faked his combat record.

i kinda miss bush in the whitehouse, along wit the pimp of all presidents, MR. CLINTON

the bust was in 2007, no? The question is, how did Bush get a second term.

In 2009/2010, a mere 6% of workers made minimum wage. And probably far less than 1% of total payroll went to minimum wage workers. Suggesting that the problem here is that people who make no money make too much money is colossally stupid.

There's also the fact that he bought the election by rigging voting in the state of Florida.

i wanted him to get elected that yr, just because he was trying to legalize weed for all of us.

You would think President Obama would have done something about if just for the tax revenue...

True. But the price of gasoline went to $5 during the Summer of 2008. I figgered gas pushed us over the edge.

I thought the decline started in 2000...

You know, when General Republican Philosophy turned us into a Burger King economy...

;) ;)

despite 9/11 which was a big hit on the economy and Katrina which was as well

The over the cliff started in June 2008, EXACTLY WHEN OBAMA TOOK THE LEAD vs HIDEOUS ROTTEN CLITBITCH and was a shoo into win.......and WE ALL KNEW THE CONSEQUENCES OF THAT
