Hottest Women of All Time

Men's Health magazine just published the results of their reader's poll to determine the 100 Hottest Women of All Time, and the winner was Jennifer Aniston.

Really??

The Top Ten looks like this:

• 2. Raquel Welch
• 3. Marilyn Monroe
• 4. Britney Spears
• 5. Madonna
• 6. Ursula Andress

• 8. Pamela Anderson
• 9. Jane Fonda

Now, we just finished a long thread on Rolling Stone's List of the 100 Best Guitarists of All Time, talking about how silly these "Best Ever" lists are and how they're designed to do nothing but generate controversy and buzz. And of course, "hot" isn't quite the same as "sexy," and certainly not the same as "beautiful," or even "tolerable." And of course all this stuff is terribly subjective &c. &c. But the list as a whole seems pretty knowledgeable, even if it makes the egregious error of putting Sophia Loren way back at #47, right behind Paris Hilton. So how J-As topped out at #1 is kind of a shock to me.

Personally, I would have skipped Spears and Jolie, but JA is smoking hot as long as she has clothes on. I would also make Raquel #11.

Sophia Loren's in at #47. Bridget Bardot's farther down, in the 60's, maybe. BB doesn't have much of a presence anymore, and left surprisingly little legacy.

If Jennifer Aniston is hot, she's hot because of character, certainly not looks. I guess that's good and a sign of progress that a woman's defined by her actions and not by her looks, but I still like Sophia. The comment by her pic describes her well as "a swoon-worthy combination of ferocity and vulnerability" and that says passion to me. JA might be hot, but I doubt very much she's passionate.

Does it help that Sophia is also Italian? (I would venture that it doesn't hurt!)

I like JA, and she's been very busy making movies recently, and showing off that hot bod of hers. In "Just Go with It," she upstaged a very hot 24yo, so I won't argue her appeal. But yeah, I was surprised to see her at #1, too.

If it were "Hot Women" above 50, Sophia would take it, hands down, of course. Which is saying something, because she's well over 50.

I saw this in an online article, and they described JA as hot partly because she is a comedian, or a comic actress at least. A sense of humor is sexy, but just reciting lines somebody has written is not.

JA is certainly attractive, although I think of her as being skinny. Paris Hilton on this list is riduculous, although she is kind of cute. I don't know exactly whom I would list on my own list, but it would certainly include MM and BB and Sophia and Kim Kardashian. To me, sexy means earthy.
