For the past few years I've done a cd compilation for my friends at Christmas and this year I'm having a hard time coming up with a fun theme. I've thought about doing a movie themed cd or something with soothing songs on it, but so far they just aren't grabbing me.

Last year I did "Good Vibrations" - songs to make you smile and the year before that I did a cd just for my girlfriends called "Invoking the Goddess" (corny- but they loved it) and that cd had songs representing different qualities like love, passion, wisdom etc...

I would love your help and suggestions for cds that YOU would enjoy receiving...extra points for groovy title suggestions ;)

I've got a mix CD in my truck that I only listen too when I am driving, it's rowdy and loud music like Offspring, Bush, Disturbed, etc. Maybe you could make her a CD with music that is good to drive too...? Just a thought.

I love giving and receiving 80's compilations, but yeah I know how choosing a name for them sucks. They always sound goofy, no matter what.

Let's see. I'm a fan of alliteration, so I've done "Spiffy 70's Spins" and "Awesome 80's" For my friend Marilyn, I did "Marilyn's Marvelous Mix" (which was a mix of stuff she chose off my hard drive).

What I would like? Hrmm. I don't know what your friends groove to, but for me I'd love a mix of motown hits. Not obscure stuff, but the stuff we all know and love to sing in the car. Title? Motown Masters? Groovy Drivin' Tunes? Hell, I dunno.

50's and 60's bubblegum hits would rock for me, too. Stuff like The Archie's "sugar sugar" or the The Hollie's "Carrie-Anne" or "Bus Stop". Stuff like that. No clue what i'd title it right now, though. Sowwy!

I started making mix tapes when I was 11 or so and called them "Dream Tapes." Future editions were DT2, DT3, etc. When I got a car, I renamed them to "Drivin' Tunes" to keep the abbreviation the same.

When I got into burning mix CD's, I called them all "Rip & Burn" because I thought that sounded cool.

My mp3 collection is called "The Vault."

My roommate, a huge Aerosmith fan, burned a CD comprised entirely of their sappy power ballads and gave it to his girlfriend. He called it "Cupid's Aero." He has an mp3 copy of every song they've ever done on a CD he calls the "Aerosmithsonian."

If your CD's tracks don't have any sort of overarching theme, I suggest "Just Like The NOW CD's, Only Not $16.95"
