HELP - changing display properties on Windows

I want to alter and customise the colours

Some of the items like Message Box and Scrollbar seem to be unalterable - even though the buttons are there to make the changes.

What obvious point am I missing ?

Practically everything is alter-able. Anything you are not sure on,. right click it and click the "Whats this box" Any items that you can change have the little colour picker box beside it. Just go thru the options agains. I'm sure you'll get it...

Also, you may want to try Stardock Systems Windowblinds. It allows you to change every facet of the Windows interface. *God-forbid, you can even make it look like XP...EEEWWWWW*

Ok, the colour of the text in Message box can be changed, also Selected Items can be changed too (the top colour picker is the bar colour, the bottom is the text colour) Scroll bar can only be altered for width, but if you choose 3d Items colour, the scroll bar becomes that colour too.
