Have you ever been drawn...

Someone is about to be drawn. Sadly, it won't be from life.
I just need to get back at it.

Never have I been drawn. I will draw anyone though and have drawn several people. Not stick figures either. I have a little more talent than that.

This thread reminded me of a short film called Cashback:
The part where he talks about a woman who wants to date a man who can draw her, to see her, really see her. 👍

I posed nude for an art class while in Med school. Somewhere there is about 30 unflattering charcoals of me.

That's often the case. Eventually, some get better.

What made you give it a go, @bunny4med ? Needed some easy money? A dare? The "thrill"? I know models who modeled for all the reasons, sometimes all those reasons. Was it only one session?

If done well, it is not "easy money", eh? Can be a bit boring and tiring and cramping, or cold.

Modeling can be thrilling/exciting, though more typically it tends toward the meditative.

Stated before that the drawing aspect also tends toward the analytic (no emphasis on the "anal" part), but now and again there might be a "spark" (even just one way) and that can be really exciting.

Getting "the bug" to draw from life again. Just checked and the local art center is holding drop-in figure drawing again.
It's only on Saturdays, so I'll have to see if I can swing that.

I volunteered to model for my college gf's Art exam piece. I was not prepared to have to sit there, still as possible for 10 hours for a painting that looked more like the love child of Bert and Ernie than me

So... how did she do on the exam?

I once asked a carnival artist to do a caricature drawing of me. He told me, "You already are a caricature of a man."

I kicked over his easel and left.

Yes. My sister and me were drawn in pastels by an artist at a holiday camp. That would have been 45 plus years ago. It had pride of place over the dinner table. Never liked it not sure where it is now. I suspect my sister has it

I imagine that was a bit less "intense" than nude modeling. (unless, of course, it was nude modeling)
