Yo. In prison, I used to hate it when the guards would toss my cell. When they found my knitting needles they claimed they were weapons. It's too bad too. I was almost finished with One Eye Larry's sweater and Bottleface Jone's socks. It can get chilly at night in prison.

Tell them the FAA disagrees. Apparently a well taped box containing a presure cooker for your mother-in-law is a "bludgeon" and must be checked because it has a handle, but the three different sizes of metal knitting needles in your carryon bag are perfectly safe.
