Good deeds done today

Played basketball 1 on 1 with a guy in his upper 40s probably. I easily could have pummeled him, but I let him score a few buckets for building his confidence and made sure to listen to what advice he had to give so I can improve my game. Might not have been an overly good deed, but I wanted to make him feel like what he had to offer as far as advice to me was important to know. A win win for both parties!

I offered to do some tutoring for a neighbors 3 kids who are not doing well in school. Smart kids they just lack parental involvement. They come over and ride bikes with my grandson. I would love to see them thrive and gain confidence.

Happened upon an older gentleman on the way home who had lost a load of firewood out of his trailer. I parked my pickup in the travel lane on the road behind him so we wouldn't get run over, then helped him pick up the wood. It's nice how older folks can express genuine thankfulness where others have to fake it.

We need more people to be there for kiss like that!!! :rose:

I agree and even just basic manners too!
You ROCK!

This is fantastic. I find myself losing faith in the kindness of strangers (to misquote and famous quote for my own purposes ;) ) so this is a great thread. And that fridge... that's an amazing idea.

Nothing so grand as that, though I believe something as small as a smile to a stranger can have positive and forward-moving effects, but I offered proof-reading and editing services to a friend trying to get her writing career off the ground. She's very good, but lacks confidence. So I intend to prove to her she's got what it takes. :) Maybe I can make a difference for her...

Made it thru MLK Day volunteer your service event here in our village.
Good gravy the paid event people here are really clueless as to what they need to put on an event.
Today we're raided my supplies again cause they were not prepared.
I ended up working for the city, my team and the Congressman I also work for occasionally.
I am wiped out!!!!

I hope people are still out there paying it Forward....
not just for the Holiday season

I love this :rose:
Ever since my illness I find myself paying it forward more as my outlook on life is different & appreciate things so much more..

Thank you. This thread reminded me I have not done something like this for a few days. I need to look for opportunities a little harder.

Saw the meter reader coming down the street so I put quarters in all the expired meters on my way to the salon. :D

It's when you need people the most that you can see who your real friends are.

I spent a week of vacation getting the rental property my ex lives in ready for the property management company's every 6 month inspection. I've cleaned, scrubbed, rug doctored, replaced doors, done minor carpentry for the invasive inspection. I followed the inspector around and it went well enough. Still, it was exhausting, dealing with cleaning up after people who won't/can't clean up after themselves. I'm drained.

Either to you or by someone else (someone you know or even a complete stranger)

If you haven't, can you do it tomorrow? Give someone a compliment or get a compliment... help someone because you want to and it's the human thing to do...

My good deed today?

I think I did good by helping a guy at the grocery store pick out a nice wine within his budget. He was thankful. It was nice.

What happened in your world?
Great idea for a thread!

That's stressful on top of everything else!
Hope you didn't get a real bitch as an inspector

His info came in from a friend who was a Guardian.
Trying to find a phone number who anyone answers it the issue.

A local client calling me in a panic first thing this morning. 20 minutes later I was at her office, another 20 minutes problem solved.
