"To her credit, she did leave plenty of blank spaces for you to fill in as you please. However, she has her heart set on getting young Khelt to take you somewhere special for a honeymoon, if only for a couple days." Vincenzo smiled as Kitty rolled her eyes.

"Well, these two have been working so hard for so long... It'd be a good vacation."

"Gran, I don't need to go anywhere special. Here in Inverness is all that I really need." Kate said with a chuckle as they talked about sending them somewhere special.

"Then at the very least I want to make sure no one bothers you with silly court matters for a couple days after the wedding," Kitty insisted. "I know you want to get as much time here at home as possible, love."

"Kell would probably appreciate that." Kate said with a grin as Heather suddenly sat up, rubbing her eyes as she sat quietly for a long moment before she called for her grandmother.

Kitty rose to pick up Heather, kissing her forehead. "Well look who decided to join us. Hello, love."

Heather hugged her grandmother tightly as she was picked up from the sleeping spot. It was clear that yesterday had worn both girls out, just as it probably had for many of their younger relatives as well. Kate was sure there would be many cranky moments and lots of tears along the way, but for now, they were both quiet and content.

It didn't take long for them to be joined by two more people. Kell and his grandfather stepped in, and Khelt immediately stepped over to kiss Kate's cheek.

"It seems today is all about grandparents," Vincenzo chuckled softly.

"As it should be. I'm surrounded by some of my favorite people in the world." Kate said as Khelt moved to kiss her cheek, his amber eyes showing the joy that must have come with Kell telling him the news.

While Khelt remained calm as ever, there was a deep contentment and pride for Kell and Kate. Kitty welcomed the two Wolves to join them, and they spent quite a while all together before they all rejoined the rest of the family.

Kitty had begun planning right away, knowing they wouldn't have long before the coronation. The wedding would be a couple weeks before the coronation to give the two time to relax and adjust and find their united front. The coronation was set for autumn, and the wedding for late summer.

Julia had started working hard on her daughter's wedding, sitting with Kitty for long periods of time as they went over everything from what kind of flowers there would be and how they would alter Kitty's dress to fit Kate.

"You look livelier than I've seen you in a while." She commented as they were working on Kate's veil together one stormy afternoon. "Perhaps we should put you to work planning all the weddings in the village."

Kitty smiled to Julia, her slender fingers easily stitching designs into the veil. "I'm always lively around weddings. I've always loved them. The first wedding I ever got to plan was Ashelin and Warwick's. It was tiny, but we enjoyed it. The first big one I planned was for Cassie and Brogan, and Jessie was essential in helping with that."

"It's hard to think that my little girl is going to be a bride, but then I have to remind myself that I wasn't much older than her when I married Brogan." Julia commented as Kitty talked about the weddings that she had planned for her friends and family. "It's hard to think that Kate is even old enough to be thinking about this. I remember when she was the girls' age, toddling after her father and demanding his attention until he had to start postponing his important meetings. He never did that for Ciaran or Annie. I think Kate softened him up for her younger brothers and sisters."

"It wasn't so much that she softened him up," Kitty murmured. "So much happened in that year between Kate and Ciaran. Both of you were nearly taken from us for good, and then Brogan thought he'd lost everything and he was so low he tried to take his own life... He healed, and you saved his life, but I think Kate was the one who saved his soul. He just wasn't truly my Brogan until she came along. You repaired so much of what he last after Cassie, but Kate and her impeccable timing made him whole again. There will always be scars from Cassie and Wick, but he moved past the pain and doubt."

"I'm afraid that her leaving Inverness will be too difficult for him. I'm prepared for some low times coming up." Julia admitted, looking over at her mother in law. "I imagine that we'll all have to pitch in to make sure that he's alright."

"He'll keep up appearances until she's gone and settled, and then he might fall apart for a while... But he'll figure it out. I think all of us will be a little melancholy for a time while we find a new normal." Kitty laid the veil aside carefully. "She's been the spark around here. Many of us will feel a bit slow without her energy."

"I'm sure someone else will take up that role. Mako is staying around. The twins haven't developed their little personalities yet. We never know who will fill what role in this family."

"No one can ever replace anyone else in this family. They all end up so unique. But that's just fine. We'll manage," Kitty smiled softly to herself.

Julia chuckled as she reached over and squeezed her mother-in-law's hand. "And no one will ever replace you."

"Well hopefully you won't have to for some time," Kitty smiled in return. "I have plenty to see yet. And I'm looking forward to more little ones coming to see me."

"I'm sure Annie will give you a few more to spoil. She is very much in love with her husband and her little son. And Ciaran might be tempted to settle down now that he has found Justin. The two of them would be lovely fathers." Julia said, thinking about her own children.

"Those boys would be lovely, but I don't think they're in any rush. They're too busy making their careers," Kitty chuckled. "But I don't think Annie and David will take long."

"I hope Ciaran doesn't wait too long. I want the chance to spoil my grandchildren as much as I possibly can. You know that feeling, I'm sure." Julia said with a smile as she started to work on the veil again, stitching tiny designs into the edge.

Eventually the door opened and Khelt stepped in silently with a tray of tea. "Ladies," he bowed his head to them both and laid the tray down, sliding the much darker cup of tea toward Kitty. "Something from the healers in Ireland for you to try, milady."

"Khelt, please join us. We were just talking about the future and what we hope for Kate and Kell." Julia said with a smile towards the older wolf as he pushed a dark brew towards Kitty. "I'm sure that you have many of your own opinions on the situation."

Khelt gave Julia the normal tea he'd brought, and he nodded at her invitation and sat down with them, taking an extra cup for himself. "I honestly haven't thought too much about it beyond hoping they'll be content together. I know they'll take care of each other, and that's all I need."
