I feel like it's usually like this with hyped games at launch. I remember launch day for Lost Ark and people were queuing for hours. Also same with Splatoon 2 for a couple of days.

Anyway, its stabilized for sure. Takes me probably a minute tops to get into a game. I probably wouldnt play over wifi but hard wired works great, no issues.

You all have convinced me. I think I'll hop back in. I suspect it's an all together different scene since I last played it. I'm definitely not Esports ready. hahaha

I recently finished Sable which was a huge surprise and I loved it. Currently giving Horizon: Zero Dawn a try.

HZD is a game I want to play so much! I am on a purchasing embargo right now though, so I need to complete a couple of games I have in my library and then I can indulge

For me, I have FallOut: New Vegas. I'm so close to the end! But no, I just can't do it. I haven't looked at it in over a year and it's just taunting me.

I've played through *most* of Dragon Age: Inquisition a couple times. But for whatever reason, I just lose interest after a while. I don't know if maybe the combat or missions are too repetitive or what. I normally love 100-hour long open-world RPG's, and I like that one - just not enough to get to the end.

I've got two that I feel like I've been playing since the beginning of time. I've never finished The Last of Us. I played it when it came out, played it when it got remastered, started it a third time and now I'm looking at the remake haha. The other is Mass Effect. I'm still working through it (albeit VERY slowly) but every time I go back, it's been just long enough for me to forget the mechanics and controls so it's a bit of a slog every time.

It got me wondering: is there a game/book/movie (or something) that you started but just can't finish?

Book: Interview with a Vampire. I've tried reading it several times, but for reasons that aren't worth getting into, I never get past one particular scene. The squick factor is just too high and I have to bow out. Hoped I'd get past it one day, but looks like that isn't happening.

Game: I've been playing the same playthrough of Final Fantasy 8 for something like 15 years now. I play a few hours, put it down, forget to pick it up for years at a time. I've literally beaten every other FF game since, but I still can't seem to put my mind to 8 for long at all. Not sure why that is.

Elden Ring...need to play more of it but I'm just not great at souls games

Ooh, a great game I've finished 4 playthroughs so far and might have to engage in a fifth before long if DLC is ever announced for it. The great thing about Elden Ring compared to most Souls is that their are ample mechanics to help mitigate the difficulty. Sorceries, spirit ashes, or just outright broken weapons that make the game a heck of a lot easier. It's kind of all about how difficult you want the game to be, unless we start talking about the super bosses like Malenia in the endgame. Even after killing her four times I still want to cry thinking about it.

I've recently found myself watching lore videos on Youtube trying to unravel my thinking about some of the plot elements and the world. It's fascinating to see some of the different takes out there.

I enjoyed Arceus, it was nice to have something new in the pokemon genre. That being said, I still didn't put near as much time into it as I did Sword/Shield

The only Pokémon games I've ever played are Blue Rescue Team (DS), Let's go Pikachu and Pokémon Go.

I want to play others but I just don't know where to start. Any thoughts?

And you can't beat D&D for gaming. The amount of freedom is amazing. Elden Ring is my next go to. I keep going back to it.

D&D is a whole thing for me, especially as I'm completely socially awkward and have major imposter syndrome one day I'm sure

I have quite a big group of good actual friends who D&D. I just can't commit due to family life. Not week in, week out.

I've been invited to join so many D&D groups, but it's a time thing and when I do have game nights with friends, it's nice to keep it varied and not be concerned about the same people being present every time.

So god damned many games I can't finish. Books? I get there eventually. Movies? Yes, a handful, because I thought they were awful and I wasn't about to sink more time into them. I'm (controversially, and among others) lookin' at you, Interstellar!
