Name a food from your childhood you miss having, either because you know better now or because they don't make it any more. I had Fruit Loops today for the first time in years, I miss having those. Its like candy, hard to believe it used to be breakfast lol

well... I was going to say pussy until I saw the requirement that it be something from childhood. I'll have to get back to you.

My grandmothers pumpkin bread or home made rice krispy treats.

Oh my Grandma's homemade apple butter on a piece of her homemade bread all toasted brown and warm. WOW, I can almost smell it now.

Does anyone remember "OK Cola". I loved that stuff and whenever I mention it people look at me like I am insane.

Grandma's homemade pecan pie. Sure, I have the recipe - but it never, ever tastes the same.

My grandmothers homemade spaghetti, sauce, and meatballs. i can make it all...but it doesn't taste the same.

i also miss Scrapple. (Unless you're from the Philly area i doubt you even know what it is.)

While I can't judge the level of your sanity - it does appear that Ok Soda did, if only for a brief moment, exist.....so in that respect you are not goofy.
But you are still a Dildo, honey.

OK Soda was a soft drink created by The Coca-Cola Company in 1994 that aggressively courted the Generation X demographic with unusual advertising tactics, including endorsements and even outright negative publicity. It did not sell well in select test markets and was officially declared out of production in 1995 before reaching nation-wide distribution. The drink's slogan was "Things are going to be OK."

HottieMama,

I can't believe I just read this. I haven't had Scrapple for years. The last time I had it was when we visited the shore. Oh my gosh, that sure does bring back memories.

My mom used to dip it in a bit of flour and then fry it. It was delicious. It does have a bad reputation but if you have never tried it, you have no idea how delicious it is.

It's nice to meet you. I'm originally from the Philly area and we just got back from visiting my family there.

Have a great day.

EXACTLY! Dip it in flour..and then fry it till it's crunchy on the outside. Man, i love that shit!

Nice to meet you as well. i'm Philly born and bred...left 5 yrs ago...can't wait to go back.

Another thing - don't imagine too many people will know this one either but, when I was a kid we lived on a farm and raised pigs - it was always a special treat to have momma fix up a mess of Rocky Mountain Oysters.
Best served hot - now there was some good eats.

Maybe that's why I still have the urge for some "sweet meat".

Orange Crush soda. They don't have it here anymore. Not sure if they still make it or not.

A Root Beer Float! Many a summer evening was spent enjoying the frothy creamy treat.

Cream soda made with my soda stream!
I loved my soda stream, now id rather drink water but it was the height of much needed kitchenage back then
