Yum! I think I want that Emma Stone gif as the official thread picture.

You take the gif, I'll take Emma Stone. But the gif is super cute too. :D:rolleyes:

(but damnit, I'll take that BBQ too, holy hell I'm hungry now! Maybe I need Emma Stone to BRING me BBQ.... yeah.... that's a great idea....)

Here's what I cooked up today.

Bacon Wrapped Porterhouse Steak
Grilled Veggies and Potatoes
Grilled Fruit Salsa (plum, peach, cayenne, onion and pineapple)

It's probably a good thing that you haven't told me just where in Florida you are. I'd have coincidentally arrived around lunch time today.

I'm from Buffalo and one of the things that is local to the area is a sammich known as Beef on Weck. Whenever I'm home and I need my fix, I go to the restaurant that Tony Bourdaine went to when he visited Buffalo.

Here it is.

One restaurant in Orlando that made Beef on Weck recently closed. But the other one that makes better ones is still open. Except they call it "beef of a weck" but don't worry Brad, I correct them. And would you believe it, if you don't tell them not to, they put cheese on it.

I imagine that somebody would put them in a barrel and make them go over the falls for that transgression.

OK, bring one of those with you and I'll buy you the sandwich while you're in Orlando.

we had plenty! I'm on the gulf side.

Sheesh. of a weck? Weck is short for Kummelweck. It's the roll. John Madden used to call it beef on wicky. WTF? The only thing you put on a beef on weck is horseradish. One more thing...when Buffalo Wild Wings started it was Buffalo Wild Wings and Weck. They dropped the Weck.

I think putting cheese on the sammich is something that could get you filled in Buffalo.

Next time I'm in Orlando, I'll PM you.

I agree completely. That would be like putting ketchup on a Ted's Hot Dog instead of the hot sauce or asking for a Mighty Taco with something as run of the mill as Tabasco. (By the way, did you know that there is a Theodore's on the Island started by a member of Ted's family that wants to run his own hot dog shop?)

I have boycotted BW3 since they dropped the weck. Oh, and this place in Orlando doesn't know about the au jus.

Love the thread BBB

With the food you make I might have to invite myself to lunch next Summer when I'm on the gulf coast of FL.

No pics, but today was ham, asparagus, macaroni salad and corn on the cob.

These aren't my pictures, but pictures of the dishes I made

This is the chicken korma dish I made last week. It was so freakin' delicious (and I even substituted fat-free or low-fat ingredients were I could!). I don't know how well it freezes, but I'm going to find out since there's a plastic container of it in my freezer right now, along with two containers of homemade chili and two containers of my other favourite dish to make:
