Food Pr0n

Am going home to fire up the crock pot and try my hand at White Bean Chicken Chili. Is not exactly a sexy meal, but I'll post later if it's any good. It's 35F here right now, perfect weather for slow cooked comfort food. Mmmm....and cuddling. :)

Mmmm, consoling and chicken chili sound like a good combination.

Actually tonight I have friends coming over. I'll be steaming 100 clams, barbecuing chicken and making warm German potato salad. I just made the coleslaw.

Plenty of tasty cocktails are in store as well. I'll be making the ladies French 75's with some swedish herb bitters I recently got. The guys will have coices of Micro beers or rye whiskey drinks - lately I've been making Sazerac's, Manhattans, and Mint Julips.

Hmmm....any cheap flights to your nape of the woods?

I'm making marinated London Broil. :D

About 20 years ago I ordered a mint julep, I couldn't stomach the second sip because it was so bad...to me. The name sounded good and it was pretty, but ughhhh was it bad! Of course I've no idea if it even tasted right or if it was my unrefined palette.

Pics! I don't even know what that tastes like.

If we don't go to the big city...it's flank steak tacos and fresh salsa, guac and homemade chips.

I'll be there in 2.5 hours. Turnpike is a bitch. ; )

Damn! I still have to wait five more days to get what I want for breakfast! ;)

I'm making London Broil on the grill and grilling onions, zucchini, asparagus and mushrooms.

It could be warm and bitterly sweet full of protein with the mix of bacon and sugar.....lmao

See, that looks delicious. Too many of the bacon-and-sweet concoctions they come up with end up having to be cold, and I don't like the texture bacon gets when it's cold. That looks amazing!

Wow - I love grilled veggies - ever grill peaches? Cut em in half, de-pit, grill, put on a salad or by themselves.

Oh yeah. I make a killer salsa.

Salsa
Ingredients:
• ½ plum
• ½ peach
• One thick slice of red onion
• One slice of fresh pineapple
• One hot pepper - cayenne or jalapeno
• 2 teaspoons Florida Orange Habanero Rub
• Olive oil spray
Method:
1. Spray onions, pepper and fruit with olive oil
2. Spread rub over them
3. Grill until they are heated through about 7-10 minutes, flip once at about the 4 minute mark.
4. Remove from grill, chop and mix.
