Hello , I submitted a story and received this reply ....

#############################

Your search - http://www.literotica.com/s/susan-ch-01-3 [change - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

•Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
•Try different keywords.
•Try more general keywords.
•Try fewer keywords.

###############################

................ so my question is , points 2, 3 , 4, ; okay I have to review my keywords.

With point one, is that text of the story or keywords please. I ran the text through spell check and it came up cool. Okay , I'll check again but I think it's good.

The word [ change ] above is in blue .

To start off ; am I on the right track here please? Thanks for your time .

First off, it takes about 72 hours for a story to be approved posted. If you just submitted it, probably what you have is a tentative URL, and it's not available yet. Since it's not posted, it's not searchable.

Second, how did you "search" that? If you put it in your address bar, it won't work as the [change] part isn't part of the URL. If you searched stories in Lit for it, I doubt it would come up since it's not in the text of the story.

I think you just need to be patient. The "change" part is there for you to change the URL. This appears to be a new feature that I've had no reason to use. Just leave the story alone and check back on... Friday. You submitted it Tuesday, right? So check on Friday.

That doesn't look like a story submission. That looks like a story search. Maybe you didn't actually get it submitted.

Thanks

Thanks kind people .

All I can say extra is that it went Saturday or Sunday ; it had the word pending in blue and now has the word change in blue. I thought it was a request for me to change something .

So thanks for you help , I'll sit back and see what happens.

I think the OP submitted a story and then immediately searched the URL, which wasn't available. That's why I was asking about how and what they searched for.

rejections

Yeah, I just tried to submit my first story and the whole point was for it to be short, sweet and to the point. It was 858 words, so still over the 750 minimum and it got rejected because 1. They thought I could develop the plot more (it was supposed to be a brief dream sequence fantasy) and 2. To check my spelling and grammar ( I have seen such bad spelling and grammar posted on here that you can't even tell what the author was going for) and 3. To check my paragraphs for correct sizing and whatever. So, I know I'm not a seasoned author, but I thought my story was worth posting more than some of the train wrecks I've read here. I am a little pissed it got rejected mainly because of the reasons behind the rejection. I obviously know spelling and grammar and I'm not a dim-witted simpleton. I did break it into paragraphs so it mainly got rejected because it wasn't detailed enough for whomever was doing the approvals. Sometimes sex is a hot wild blur with just the main hot points and not all the details like frilly panties and lots of foreplay. Sometimes sex is best as a raw primal need without extra bells and whistles. I guess for my story to be on here it really can't be my story because it has to be changed to make the cut. I won't be submitting anymore. There are some really good authors on here and I enjoy reading a lot of the stories posted, but there have been some really crappy ones too and I am disappointed that some of that crap can make it on and mine doesn't make the cut.

Did you have someone else read your story over? That can always help; maybe there were problems, not necessarily grammar or punctuation, that you didn't see. I can say that for myself, when I see a big paragraph, I skim it. It's hard to read line after line on screen with no break.

If you're saying you think it was rejected because the sex wasn't detailed enough, I disagree. There are plenty of stories on here that have little sex or none at all (I wrote one of those).

And true, I don't think there's a whole lot of quality control here, but then it's not the point. So long as the stories meet some basic criteria, and don't feature bestiality or underage sex, they get posted.

If you'd still like to post but not here, try StoriesOnline.net. I'm not sure if they have word limits, but I'd think yours would be long enough.

I did have others read it and they can't believe it was rejected. I've never had problems with writing, spelling, grammar etc. I'm the person everyone goes to when they need help around here. I have no idea why it was rejected. The reasons I was given made no sense. I don't want to develop the story. I want it the way it is, a brief fantasy sequence. The way I want it doesn't make the cut apparently. It doesn't really matter anymore. I don't have time for writing anyways. I do appreciate you taking the time to chat with me about it though. Thanks.
