Field House

Dusty smiles as Jen sits down with her and hugs her close. She leans into Jen and nods but makes no effort to get up and leave Jen's sweet embrace.

Jen smiled and just held Dusty close to her not really wanting food just to hold her sweet one close for the time being. "ON second thought lets just sit here til we have to go."

Dusty leans into Jen more, letting out a soft sigh of relief at Jen's suggestion. "I don't think I could eat if I wanted to... I have a couple of power bars in bag though to get us through practice at least... I should be ok by then." She leans her face up and kisses Jen on the cheek and for some strange reason blushes.

Jen just kept her arms around Dusty. "Okay my sweet that is fine and we can always stop before practice for something." Jen brushed a kiss to Dusty's forehead noticing her blush. "Why are you blushing?"

Dusty sighs again happily as Jen kisses her forehead and snuggles even closer if that is possible. She smiles "Yes, we can do that too.. And we already have tonight's supper." She giggles a little at Jen's question about her blushing "Ummm.. I don't know actually."

Jen situated herself in Dusty's lap as that was much easier to do then have Dusty in her own lap. She wrapped her arms around Dusty's neck and just pressed herself close to Dusty. "Okay then we shall do that my sweet."

Dusty giggles as Jen settles in her lap, Jen is a few inches taller than her but in sheer body mass Dusty is bigger. Dusty wraps her arms around Jen's waist and holds her tightly, just content to be in this moment before things grow stressful.

Jen lays her head on Dusty's shoulder just content to be with her sweet one like this before things will get hetic. "Things will be just fine my sweet."

Dusty leans her head against Jen's and relaxes for a bit till the alarm goes off on her watch. She sighs and looks at Jen, squeezing her tightly. "This is it I guess"

Jen kisses Dusty softly. "Then let us go my sweet." Jen slipped off of Dusty's lap and held out her hand to help Dusty up.

Dusty closes her eyes as Jen kisses her softly then opens them again as Jen slips out of her lap. She smiles and takes Jen's hand, rising from the couch and grabbing the two bags then heading toward the door, opening it for Jen.

Jen walked out the door happy to see no reporters camped out there but knowing when they got to the service it would be reporter central. "We can do this I just think there will be a lot of reporters there."

Jen climbed into the car and waited for Dusty to get in before they headed for the service and the major amount of reporters. "Okay let's do it." Jen got out of the car and waited for Dusty to get out as well with the rapid clicks of the cameras.

Dusty peeks out the door then follows Jen out to the car. She climbs into the car and sits down. Watching Jen as she drives she for a moment then looking down at the floorboard.. Not really wanting to see what is to come.

Dusty nods and gets out of the car quickly, almost slamming her dress in the door. She rushes around the front of the car to join Jen and walked very close to her as they headed into the church. She whispered "I wish they would go away" to Jen

Jen nodded to Dusty's whisper she wrapped a supportive arm around Dusty as they headed into the service. "It will be okay." They took there seats at the front and Jen was shocked at the sheer number of people there. She noticed the majority of the soccer team as well as several teachers and other students. Yet even there pressance didn't make her move her arm from around Dusty's shoulders because she knew that her sweet one needed that support and basically if they were found out so be it Dusty was more important then that.

Dusty blinks as Jen wraps her arm around her, not expecting her to do this with all the people around her job on the line. She snuggles in close to the warm arm around her as she walks. Dusty scans the pews of the church and notices most of the soccer team, fellow students and teachers. There were even guys and girls there that had made fun of her. She really expected Jen to remove her arm by now and took comfort in the fact that she didn't. She held her emotions in all weekend and hopes that she doesn't break down.

Jen kept her arm around Dusty not wanting Dusty to break down. She was more concerned with Dusty then her own job at the moment if there was fall out from this so be it. Jen kept her arm there scanning things noticing a lot of people from school and other people she didn't know. She just hoped that the service was not a long one.

Dusty leans up against Jen the best she can without being too obvious that she was seeking the support. She takes a deep breath and tries to be strong. She hears the doors of the church open as the preacher starts to speak and grumbles under her breath as her aunt walks in dressed in a white dress and mink coat. She tenses up and turns her attentions back to the preacher hoping that this will be over with very soon.

Jen noticed the woman walking in and pegged her for who she spoke to on the phone. She kept her arm around Dusty and listened to the preacher and finally it was over. She stayed seated by Dusty still with her arm around her sweet one as everyone started to file out.

Dusty lets out a strained breath and is a bit relieved that her parents were creamated. She wonders what the instructions are for dealing with their ashes though. She keeps her eyes on hands in her lap, not daring look up unless she is spoking to. She's not the most emotional of people and in her family crying is a weakness. She takes several more deep breaths and watches the people leaving the church out of the corner of her eye.
She watches the preacher approach and sinks down in the pew more. He hands her the urn and an envelope then pats her shoulder and tells her that he is there if she needs him, as well as that he will be rooting for her in the playoffs if it comes to that then walks off. Dusty finally looks up at Jen as most of the people are gone.

Jen stayed where she was as the preacher approached with the enevlope and the urn. She glanced around and noticed most everyone had gone she stood and offered Dusty her hand again to help her up. She looked around to make sure they wouldn't have to deal with the Aunt from Hell. They made it back to the car with a minimal fuss when she approached.

Dusty was just opening her car door when her aunt approached. She lets out a soft sigh and looks down at the pavement. "What do you want? Come to tell me I am better off in a juvy center? I'm not dealing with your crap.. Just leave me alone." Dusty starts to sits down and cracks her head on the door frame. She rubs her head and winces then shoots her aunt a glare. "Well?"

Aunt Jamie glares right back at Dusty. "You didn't deserve your dad, you hateful child. The police called because you have not picked up the box from the station. They said an officer will bring it over in a few days and make sure you are being cared for properly. Jamie stiffens a bit and puts a finger on Dusty's throat "A collar of sorts? How quite for a young bitch." She grins and walks off, getting into her limo and heading out. "I'll be in Australia, don't bother calling me."

Dusty is fuming. She closes her door and stares at the dashboard of the car.

Jen was fuming while she listened to the exchange between Jamie and Dusty. She waited until the hateful woman was gone. "Are you okay my sweet?" She asked quite concerened because of how Dusty had hit her head.

She pondered the whole police thing and everything else. "Your 18 so no one can say a damn thing about where you live or anything."

Dusty looks over at Jen and sighs. "Yeah.. I am fine. It hurts a little but I will be ok. That's what I get for being hateful I assume. Hmm so what does she get?" Dusty cracks a smile finally. "I can't believe she treats me like this... "

Dusty nods, "yes.. I just turned 18 thankfully. No one can touch me." She grins "Except you of course." She digs in her bag and pulls out of protein bars "Want one? Or?.. " She trails off as a cop approaches the car carrying a box. He taps on the window and Dusty rolls it down, taking the box from him. He nods his head and walks off. Dusty eyes the box curiously and tosses the envelope and earn into it. She can't resist however. She rummages through the box and finds a wallet and purse and goes through them. "Holy.... $3000 between the two of them." Dusty blinks and opens the envelope from the preacher, there are two plane tickets to San Francisco and hotel passes. Dusty turns her head and looks back at Jen. She shows everything to her. She looks further into the envelope and there is a large wad of money and a letter.
"Dusty, this is not a lot of money but it should last for about a year, though you can use it for whatever your needs are. Please give it to your caregiver that you have chosen to take care of you and they can use it for clothing and such is necessary for you. We loved you very much though we didn't always show it. Find enclosed $100,000. We love you... Mom and Dad."

Dusty feels like she is choking as she reads the letter. She shakes her head and puts the money in the glove box. She then grins. "Well.. it looks like the $100,000 is yours to dole out.... The $3000, though is play money!"

Jen watched as Dusty opened the box and looked through it. "Wow that's a lot of cash yeah that's play money as for the rest my sweet I trust you so you don't have to worry about me doling it out unless you start to miss use it."

She notices the tickets and hotel passes. "It looks like we get to go to San Franisco at some point. And I supose the $100, 000 will go towards paying off the service unless that was taken care of."

Jen couldn't quite believe all that had taken place. "So should we go somewhere for food we have time before practice."

Dusty chuckles softly, "I wouldn't know what to do with it in the first place, so no worries of me mis-using it. Hmmm.. this is a lot of play money too. This could be fun."

"Yes, we are definitely going to San Francisco. I know my father too well. The hotel is already paid for, I guess we will use the money for whatever we need it for then."

Dusty nods slowly, still looking at the box. "Yes, lets get something to eat"
