Ok all you otaku out there....what are your fav anime?? (plural)

Mine include:

(in no order)

Vampire Hunter D
" " Bloodlust

Revolutionary Girl Utena (tv series)

Vampire Princess Miyu

Slayers

TRIGUN

plus many more but i am lazy ....^_^

i like the lensmen series~havent sen it in years but pretty cool cartoon series.

i have akira on tape~interesting story but it needs to edit out about an hours worth of post~apcalyptic scenes and sound effects becouse the brain tends to go numb after awhile....

Revolutionary Girl Utena of course
Cowboy Bebop
Trigun
and I can't begin to spell the other one lol

Akira.... great movie

although they should have just made the movie purely about biker gangs and shit... none of that super-freaky stuff.

Movies: Ghost in the Shell and Perfect Blue

Series: Dragonball Z, Cowboy Bebop, and the greatest of all, Rurouni Kenshin

I liked Vampire hunter D and trigun...I also liked Princess Mononoke, but some people don't consider that anime

As far as I have seen Princess Mononoke is classified as Anime. Excellent movie in my opinion. I wish I had gotten to see other movie that was recently made by the same director. Spirited Away I think is the tital. I was broke and missed it completely.

Spirited away is also a masterpiece.

I also reccomend Nausicca of the Valley of the Wind, Kiki's delivery service, My Meighbor Totoro, and everything else he does.

Aaah, anime..

How does Mononoke not count as anime? Because it's a *serious* movie?

Anyways, I love all of Miyazaki's works, but my favourite is Laputa. Its the anime I grew up on, and is so much fun to watch. I'd recommend all this other works though (My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa, Kiki's Delivery Service)

"Memories", made by the Katsuhiro Otomo of Akira fame, is a brilliant movie. Comprised of three different segments, each one totally different and wonderfully made.

Ruruoni Kenshin, my favourite anime ever :)

Cowboy Bebop is excellent! Stylishly made, and very funny at times.

Macross Plus. Amazing animation, and a departure from the previous cheesy Macross installments. One of the best ever.

Giant Robo. Yeah it has robots, but not many! Comic book characters, shocking plot twists in every episode. Magnificent.

Does anyone know of a place besides Winmx that I can download Cowboy Bebop?

What else would be good to download episodes of?

I'm looking up Miyazuki's stuff now :)

While I love everything that has been posted my original fav. will always be the robotech series.

I am sort of getting into the Inuyasha series, and Aeon Flux is sort of nifty.

It's about the long-term character development!

Does one character end up looking slightly different to the others?

its just.... very samey shit every episode, imho.

I used to think that, too, but then I got into the characters, who are actually very intriguing. Of course, you may have to watch ten episodes before something significant happens in the area of character development...but it's worth it! :D

So what are your favorites, Mr. Critical? :p

Fushigi Yugi

One of the first " real " anime's I saw and I was hooked.

'Just' anime doesnt really exicte me too much, basically because Japanese script writers can't write dialogue to save their lives.

(or rather, its translated literally and ends up sounding like shit)

As far as cartoons I watch at the moment, its basically X-Men Evo, couple of Eps of the new He-Man, Spawn and something like Samurai Jack.

Although my all-time favourites list includes original X-Men, Transformers, Ulysees, Mysterious Cities of Gold and a few others

You shouldn't watch American dubs if you want good anime, IMO.

Bah, new American cartoons. I just can't get into them. Samurai Jack is funny in a very subtle way, but it's so repetitive! Aku sends evil minions against Jack. Jack and minions fight. Jack looses shirt. Jack's hair comes out of it's tie. Jack is about to be defeated when...he finds new strength/ability/secret to help him defeat evil! Boooring.

And by that analysis DBZ isn't boring?

And that's different from DBZ... how?
