I read a great deal here, I actually think about what I've read... especially some of the stories and poems. It's those that prompt me, in the main, to ask this question; if we are not too jaded to have fantasies by now,
What would be your "Fantasy Island", what sort of island? What's the weather like? Who is there with you? Why? and, What do you do to pass the time? ~ Is that question too big?

It would be as big as that days adventure required. Same with the people present. After all it is a fantasy.

Hmmmm... a most succinct answer that pretty much covers all eventualities. A constantly changing kaleidoscope of scenery and people depending on how your feeling. I get that. (y)

Let me give you my pretty much permanent ideal "Fantasy Island", if I may.

It's name is "Isla de la búsqueda" and it lies in the South Atlantic Ocean approximately 1200 miles North East of the Falkland Islands by about 780 miles Nor-Nor West of the British dependency of Shag Rocks (somewhat appropriate don't you think?) It is in a temperate maritime weather zone and the Southern ocean currents bring some awesome surf to our South east low lying coast. The Island is typically a mix of forested lowlands with a mountainous region in the South West corner.

My friends and I, whom live there, purchased it from the British Government and we lease part of the island to the British Antarctic Research establishment as a "jumping off" point for journeys to Antarctica. Brings some interesting visitors our way occasionally.

We grow most of our own food but we receive an airplane mail and supplies delivery once a month from Buenos Aires. The permanent population of the island consists of myself, a professional author, my wife Charlene, two ex-significant others, Pat and Ellie, a former girlfriend, Susan, from 'lonnnnng' ago (not the first but by jiminy one of the best...) and a couple of friends from back in the day, Jill and Kristian, a married couple.

Of course there are a lot of things to do around the island, a lot of leisure activities, hiking, fishing, water skiing, surfing and so forth but by far the best times are had in eachothers company, which varies frequently of course... the motto of the Island, like it was back in the sixties and seventies across the world, "Free Love Baby...!"
