I just saw this story in the German section, where two minors have sex.
The story starts with the info about German law where people over 14 years can have sex with other minors.
It seems the no-sex-rule-with-minors applies only to countries where it is unlawful.

In the UK consensual sex (and marriage with parental permission) is OK at 16, but it cannot be used in a Lit story except to say perhaps 'They married at 16' but any sexual description must wait until they are 18.

Google Translate sucks most of the time, and has got to be bloomin' awful with fiction. It doesn't get nuances. I have a little bit of high school German and Spanish, and what GT comes up with sometimes makes me want to barf go find something else.

I wouldn't be surprised if the powers-that-be here employ a paid service, something that'll do an automated first pass with a wetware review.

Mum often rewrites the passages to give the preferred point, view, or emotion that her friend wanted.

A few months back, through a writing group, I fell into helping a translator doing a work from English into, of all things, Polish. I don't know Polish, but there were English phrases that fell into this scenario. The English phrases didn't make that much sense to her (the translator) in the context of the full book, so she wanted to understand the gist of them. I cannot vouch for the fidelity or lack of fidelity to the end product, but she did say some of the phrases were difficult to get the actual meaning across so that'd the whole would make sense to the Polish readers. But she was hopeful.

Don't think those publisher's give a rats ass about what the content is. What they care a great deal about is the credit card companies who have banned the processing of payments if the under 18 rule isn't in place and enforced. It is all about the money!

Uhm. No.
The story of Perreault, that's the one that is translated and adapted, and the one that people know best is called
Cendrillon ou la Petite Pantoufle de verre
And verre means 'glass'
There is discussion about whether Perreault had maybe confused verre and vair (a type of fur), but that's unlikely since he was kind of a linguist.
