I should have written that sex scene at the end of the story

I am resurrecting this thread to ask a related question.

I am finishing up a four part series, each part short (3-5K). It is a magic in the modern world work.
Large segments of the first three parts are just a smorgasbord of sexual activities, one after another.
I have finished part 4, which explains everything and is a nice happily ever after bit, with no sex at all.

As I was writing it, this feels like a good ending point, but I could also follow the happy couple into the sunset to give some action.

Should I end it here or will the readers lynch me after I saturated them with sex for the first three parts and then dropping them with this part?

Writer's choice. What do you want to do?

I like the ending with no sex, but I feel like I promised the readers sex through the first three parts. It feels wrong to yank the rug under them now.

How did you promise them sex?

I looked back at my three highest-rated stories--in three different categories--and none of them have sex at the end. In each case, I thought it was important to write the story to its natural conclusion, and that didn't include sex.

You're the only one who knows your story. I don't think any of us can tell you how to write it.

I promised them sex by the way that I wrote the first three parts of this series. They made it to part four on a steady diet of sex.

That is my real quandary. It feels like a restaurant serving steaks and burgers every night and once it has a steady business, swapping to tofu.

You probably want to end the story in some way that is emotionally fulfilling to the reader. It shouldn't be like swapping to tofu, it should be like finishing with dessert. If the rest of the story isn't really emotionally charged, then doing it without sex could be a challenge.
