Even More Random Thoughts

Two random, but slightly related thoughts. One: it's a pity that signatures do not show below the posts anymore (or do they?). Two: it's a bit disappointing that the GLBT Forum is what it currently is.

I've noticed signatures have shown up for me on my laptop, but not while I'm viewing on my phone. Not much in the way of why that is though. 🤷

It would appear it was a configuration issue — I had forum signatures display disabled, because I simply cannot withstand five mile long signatures. With the forum update, that seems to have been resolved, to a degree. On mobile, signatures are visible on landscape mode, but not portrait mode.

*turns my phone around to test this theory* 😉

No kidding! I learned something new today! Not that I really want to see signatures, unless I am stalking someone! 😂

Thanks, Val!

No problem. Under the old forum format, some heavily exaggerated signatures were just too much to contend, visually. I mostly had them off. A forum signature field is one of those things where less is definitely more.

Um, I totally agree.... but, no offense, have you seen your signature? 😬

None taken. I have seen my signature, aye. It has been the only I've had since I've joined the board and it will continue to be the same. I only changed it today to include the Pride Month banner I made. Since we don't have a profile picture display anymore, we can't put up a separate / secondary image, I figured it'd go in the signature.

In my defense though, my signature is tasteful.

I love this scene. There something ruthless, hot, sad, and exciting about it. It's perfect.

  • Sherlock Holmes : Oh, enjoying the thrill of the chase is fine, and creating the distraction of the game I sympathize entirely, but SENTIMENT... sentiment is a chemical defect found in the losing side.
Irene Adler : Sentiment? What are you talking about?
    Sherlock Holmes : You.
Irene Adler : Oh, dear God. Look at the poor man. You don't actually think I was interested in you? Why? Because you're the great Sherlock Holmes, the clever detective in the funny hat?
Sherlock Holmes : No... because I took your pulse: elevated; your pupils: dilated. I imagine John Watson thinks love's a mystery to me, but the chemistry is incredibly simple and very destructive. When we first met, you told me that disguise is always a self-portrait; how true of you. The combination to your safe: your measurements - but this...
Sherlock Holmes : [taking her cell phone] ... this is far more intimate. This is your heart, and you should never let it rule your head. You could have chosen any random number and walked out of here today with everything you've worked for, but you just couldn't resist it, could you? I've always assumed that love is a dangerous disadvantage. Thank you for the final proof.
Irene Adler : Everything I said - it's not real. I was just playing the game.
Sherlock Holmes : I know. And this is just losing.

It is rather pitiful how very little literary comprehension some individuals possess.
