2. There is a health care crisis in America

3. It's more important for kids to have a safe, loving home than to have a mother and a father.

4. The "condescension" of some liberal whites is much preferable to blacks than the open racism of fringe conservatives.

5. Guns should be at least a regulated as automobiles.

Okay, I'll have a go at it

1. Most blacks and most whites are not racist.
That would hold true in my little corner of the world (New England) ... although, I believe it differs by locations throughout the US.

2. There is a health care crisis in America.
I don't agree with this one wholeheartedly. It may be more of an availability to resources that lead to care. Most hospitals are required to perform and document a percentage of charitable care. Various governmental agencies assure health care for the needy, as well. No, the US doesn't have socialized health treatment ... but, that doesn't constitute a "health care crisis" in my mind.

3. It's more important for kids to have a safe, loving home than to have a mother and a father.
A safe, loving home is tantamount, which can be provided by single parents or non-parental care. That being said, in most cases, a home with a mother and father, sharing all aspects of child rearing, provides a safe, loving home a little easier than the alternatives.

4. The "condescension" of some liberal whites is much preferable to blacks than the open racism of fringe conservatives.
Anything is preferable than open racism from anywhere. However, I would be hesitant to agree that "condescenscion of some liberal whites" is the next best choice. I guess some, with a chip on their shoulder, would interpret any expressed sense of equality as "condescension".

5. Guns should be at least as regulated as automobiles.
Yes. I believe gun registration and regulation is a necessary evil. I, both own and am registered to carry a weapon. I'm not so naive to think that regulation creates a panacea of safety, but it does limit some of the misuse.

6. The war on drugs should be decriminalized and medicalized.
Marijuana has its medical benefits, and when shown to be valid treatment, I would agree. Decriminalized, is a different story. Perhaps, a lighter charge (misdemeanor) for users within the adult agegroup ... and a stronger charge for the dealer. I may be mistaken, but I think that is how the current laws are enforced anyhow. But, in any case, having the laws available as is for legal ramifications for minors.

Getting caught up on threads...

Now I see where you are coming with this.

You can't say, "I'm a member of the Klan."

Since when?

What punishment ensues if you do? Ostracism?

Is it a crime?

Yes, it is hate speech of the most vile kind. Go to any NAACP national meeting, utter that line, and stand by for some punishment!

There 's a revelation!

The Klan wouldn't be welcome at an NAACP meeting. I suppose you think they should be feted with a magnificent feast and music. If a klansman ever actually did something that stupid any result would just be Darwin taking the trash out.

Turn it around, how many blacks would be welcome at a Klan rally?

How many klansmen have been found dangling from trees at the hands of the NAACP?
