Erotic photography/ posing

I received several messages from a recruiter for several adult sites who said he had been looking at my profile and was interested in whether I had ever considered posing professionally for a session. I didn't really know how to respond of course, so I didn't, and I deleted the mail, but the thought of what he had asked has stayed in my mind. I was curious if there are any others reading here who are in the commercial photography industry who might tell me what this all would be like, what I should expect and, at my age and given solely what you see on my profile, what my potential and reception might be?
