The anonymous comments seem to indicate that some clarification is needed. More than one comment suggested that I was referencing a ship (Defiant) that didn't exist during the time of the Enterprise NX-01. Well....
Kindly visit http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/ENT/episode/9440.html, where you will find that the Defiant did exist, although it was not the same Defiant as the ship on DS9.
