It doesn't have anything to do with the mixing of fluids. He noticed it before there was mixing - i.e. when he went down on her the first time, before sperm entered the picture....or the vagina.

Don't know about thrush - I thought that was a mouth thing. Didn't know it could effect the nether regions.
