I read a blog yesterday where the blogger hypothesized that the Republicans threw this election.
Why? So they can leave the Democrats with the blame of the hard things that have to be done to clean up the mess they created.

On CNN they sometimes call states based on exit polls. MSNBC may be doing the same.

The global economy is headed for recession and it will be a hard year or two. However by the time of the next election recovery will have already been underway for over a year and he'll get the credit for that, too. Dumb, I know, because presidents really have nothing to do with the economy but there you are.

That's what I figured. The blue counties are where or near the cities. Except for a few on the north edge of The Panhandle. At least I think that's The Panhandle.
Just looked a CNN's website for their election coverage. I don't like it as much as MSNBC's. More of a pain to navigate.

I hope you're right. We've spent an enormous amount of money that we do not, in fact, possess on the war in Iraq, and I think it'll take more than two years to recover from that. But I really, really hope that I'm wrong and you're right!

A little soon to tell with only 9% of the precincts reporting. Obama does have a strong lead though.

This thing says 14% precincts reporting. Again there is the issue of relative population density in each precinct.
