Earth Day Contest Support Thread

The Pillar of the Community

It looks as if Joseki Ko might carry off the coveted award for coming last in the Earth Day contest unless...

Can anyone claim a lower score?

I will wait 24 hours before bestowing the accolade, normally this would be a wooden spoon. Can anyone produce an image of an award suitable for such an achievement?

Since it was the Earth Day Contest, a manure shovel might be appropriate.

Order for coming last:

Lowest voted rating for a genuine attempt at a story multiplied by number of votes if less than 25 divided by 25.

So - if rating is 3.00 but only 12 votes the score would be

3.00 x 12 / 25 = 1.44

If rating is 3.00 but more than 25 votes, the rating stays the same.

I suggest ignoring number of reads except as a tie breaker when least number of reads would *win*.

Any other ideas?

Og
To refresh our addled memories, here are the rules The Great Og proposed on page one of this thread back on 03/21.

Let the computations begin.

Current favourites...

My Erotic Tail:

4.31 multiplied by 16 divided by 25 = 2.76

Joseki Ko:

3.16 multiplied by 21 divided by 25 = 2.65

Unless - lower votes might still sneak into bottom place.

Og

PS. Rounded to two decimal places.

My story as Solus - Rhubarb and Horseshit :D

rating 3.70 - 10 votes

so is that 3.70 x 10 / 25 = 1.48

Say what?

Now let's just wait one cotten pickin' minute!

There's bound to be something in the non-existent rulebook about this. Can someone who finished second, also finish last? We may have to take this to the Supreme Court, to the House of Lords, to the United Nations, and/or anyplace where Og has a paid-up, high-limit tab.

Those of us who can never manage to finish among either the winners or losers, stand in awe of such an accomplishment, pixiesjuice. :)

Now that I've been a good sport, I'd go stick my head in the oven and turn on the gas--except we've got an all electric kitchen.

Oh My~

Looks around for a clothes pin for my nose..
lmao~

so I didn't win last either....oh my....lol

Now Rumple, I would hate for you to get your eyebrows singed on my account lol But I don't think that Rhubarb & Horseshit should really count, there wasn't even a suggestion of a story about it :D

It was only written because someone mentioned a stinker of a story... horseshit automatically sprung to mind.

Around here, thinking of horseshit is bound to count at least as semi-divine inspiration. :)

ps: Maybe I'll change my sig line to a lyric from the old musical, "How to Succeed in Business W/O Really Trying."

"Remember, mediocrity is not a mortal sin."

Ahem. Some people here are mediocre. :p
And as the psalmist said, that's not a mortal sin. However, if the First Church of the Second Mortgage and Discount House of Worship deems it to be an immoral sin, I may finally be in business. :)

Always the brides maid and never the bride.

I've been thinking of an old WWI Joke, I'd like to share.

Fifi and her boyfriend Pepe take one of his off days to go out on a picinc. While they are out there Fifi asks Pepe what he'd like to eat.

Pepe replies (Cheesy Franch Accent)"I am Pepe the Pilot I eat only the finest." And pulls out some chicken.

As they eat Fifi asks if he'd like some wine.

Our hero replies "I am pepe the pilot I drink only fine red wine."

So she pulls out the wine and they drink. After dinner they end up naked on a river bank. Fifi asks Pepe if he'd like to ea her pussy.

Pepe immediatly pulls out a flask of whiskey and pours it between her legs. Fifi is kind of startled but she allows it. The Pepe pulls out a match, lights it and tosses it between Fifi's legs where it ignites the alchohal setting her on fire. Amidst Fifi's screams Pepe plunges his head between her legs and licks out the flames bringing her to orgasm. When it's over Fifi glares at him and asks,

"Why in the hell did you do that?

Pepe very nonplussed says. "I am Pepe the pilot and when I go down I go down in flames!"

LOL Here to you Pixie. Going down in flames:D

Well thank you Joseki :D... the story was at 3.42 before Laurel sorted the votes yesterday, what amazed me was that it was clicked on over 2,000 times :p

:rose:

loved the joke :)

HOLD THE FORT....

The votes count BEFORE Laurel did the ole switcharoo on us.... that de-troll was made AFTER the results of the contest were posted.....

Soooo in my none to humble opinion Joseki has the award for last place. LOL

Trust me... if all this counted after the de-troll... the top three spots would look alot different.

Now that throws a new clod in the old butter churn. Should last place be determined by the pre-detrolling vote or the final, detrolled figures?

That's far too complex for my poor brain to handled. Mabye the Great Og will be able to render judgement.

I do not think that trolls should be allowed in influence the result of such a hard fought contest.

With or without trolls I'm still well away from either end of the results.

Rhubarb & Horseshit should win the coveted last place on the title alone.

Joseki Ko should have the honours for penultimate place.
I hereby award the used toilet brush for his esteemed effort.

'Solus' as author of Rhubarb & Horseshit is awarded the manure shovel and one ton of well seasoned manure to use it on. Delivery on the Greek Kalends.

I'm getting all choked up at this momentous moment. Of course that may be due to my being downwind to the prize Elizabetht/Solus has just been awarded.

Running up to the stage

To take the brush from Og.

Wow I can't believe I've won. I've worked so hard to achieve this moment. All the months of writing the clandestine talks with deepthroat, the postings.

All I can say is I'd like to take this moment to thanks all 21 people who actually voted on this strory, even if they voted more than once. I'd like to thank Og for starting this thread, he is a great man even if he's wrong on so many of the right levels:devil:

Thank you all,

Flourishes his toilet brush and exits the stage only to trip over Solus/Pixie as she comes for her award, landing face down in a pile of horsesh** that solus was carrying.

Hear! Hear!

And one dancing banana :nana: for Joseki Ko. (That may the first dancing banana smilie I've ever used. And to think I saved the event for this occasion.).

Careful you don't slip on it Jo Ko. Oh no, Jo Ko slipped and fell back into the, well, manure. Sorry about that.

I've just checked my scores again and I have 9 PCs and 5 feedback messages for my earth day story. Aren't those too few? Especially considering the fact that 3 out of the 5 feedbacks were from AH authors and all of the PCs were from AH people. Isn't this low? Same type of figures for everybody?

(One sweet person did a PC and a feedback :rose: )

Better than mine, Dampy!

Hide in the sun - 73 Votes, 3825 views, 6 PCs (3 from AH regulars), 1 feedback - from you!

The Gathering Shadows - 27 votes, 1782 views, 2 PCs (both from AH people), zilch feedback.

I can't complain. I managed to get round to get round to reading and voting on all of the other stories, but I've been very bad with my feedback. Sorry.

Alex

The Edge Of The World - views at end of contest 4,551 - votes - 54 - pc's - 10, when i get feedback it rarely says which story it's from but i don't think i had more than 4 or 5 for my entry, but since the contest the number of views has risen a lot and i've had 5 new votes.

I didn't expect so many votes on a romance story and have never had so many pc's.
