According to a poster on the conspiracy site I go to, sex is bad. It transfers and/or creates negative energy. The chick had a whole theory to go with the argument. It was too convoluted to try to explain, but somewhat plausible on theoretical grounds I suppose.

Now I have some criticisms of sex, particulary casual sex, on moral grounds, but I certainly don't believe it ever creates negative energy. Sex is the greatest affirmation of life and conduit of positive spiritual energy there is, particularly if you approach with the right spiritual mindset. Even casual sex, if approached with a spiritual mindset can only create more positive energy.

What do others think? Positive or negative energy from sex? Or are the posters here just grunting animals who don't ponder such profound questions (most likely the latter, but thought I'd pose the question anyhow).

There are no "chicks" on the internet. No matter how you spin it, sex is all about propagating the species.

From a spiritual and esoteric perspective, it depends. She's probably one of the people that believe that lust-based, selfish animal sex is nothing more then using another human being as a masturbation toy, which is a negative thing that hinders spiritual evolution--and scriptures from various cultures tend to agree with that mind set.

Though, such people have nothing against love-based sex. Sex performed between people who are mutually in love. Scriptures say nothing bad about love-sex, either, and some scriptures and saints have even suggested that it can even help spiritual evolution.

It's all esoteric and complex spiritual stuff. ;)

I heard that anything that enters a black hole is compressed to a singularity. Most pornstars disprove this theory, though.

yay. victorian horseshit. are you going start advocating burning off clits with acid and sewing up foreskins with silver wire to prevent masturbation 'cause that shit was kinda fucked.

I'd second that. Sexual energy is very fundamental, but really no different than any other form of energy. When there is harmony and balance, the energy will be positive. And when there is none, then yes, the energy will be negative.

You sometimes see this in horror movies, which has often puzzled me. I think people who are uncomfortable with their own sexuality, for religious reasons or otherwise, will have a negative stance towards sex, but the negativity stems from their personal shame and their inability to cope with it.

Sexual energy is neither good nor evil. It is simply another manifestation of the force which binds all life together.

P.S. Want to come over to the dark side?

I've fucked around with that meditative, spiritual aspect of sex, and I will say that you CAN be so in tune with another person that you feel like you open up your souls. Without getting too hippie-bullshittery, I'm gonna say that there are a LOT of cultures that endorsed the spiritual side of sex, and if you're getting a negative energy output, you're doing it wrong.

Might have a touch of the hysteria. Might wanna go see one of those massage doctors from that Kellog movie. I cannot remember the name of that, and I really want to watch it again- does anybody know what it was? We watched it in psyche class once- the dude from The Producers is in it- not Nathan Lane, the other one. They believed that negative energy shit because the dude who invented Corn Flakes told them to. Because he got some ball-killing disease and couldn't fuck. And he had this anti-sex resort where he electrocuted people. It was a good movie. And based on history.

Matthew Broderick?

Its only negative if one of the persons involved isn't wanting to do it. Lust or love based if both, (or all) the people involved are having a good time and not being totally selfish about it, it should a positive experience.

if you love or just "like" each other and want to make each other feel good, its good. if you do it for your own selfish wants, then its bad. give and you shall receive.
