Do you smoke?

Ahh, I just decided to quit this morning (after some turning over in my head for weeks before), because my cough is just getting horrible. I don't even smoke that much... maybe a quarter of a pack a day at average... but my lungs are really taking badly to it. So I gave my last pack to a friend.

I'm hoping this will go okay because I've only been smoking (officially) for a few months, and before that I was actually a successful social smoker for about 3 or 4 years. I started because of all the stress in my life at the time, and although I would like to be able to rely on it to calm me down, the health risks are not practical at this point.

Wish me luck!
Congratulations! And good luck! :D

I don't smoke, never did.

For a while I associated a man smoking with intimacy subconsciously but that passed. I am somewhat like a charcoal filter, all smoke gloms onto me so if I'm around any smoking I have to take a shower and wash my hair first thing when I come home.

Good for YOU, Red!

Fury :rose:

Good luck with the quitting.

Like I said, it's on my to-do-list...

Especially because in the last 4 or so months I've developed leukoplakia, which given that I don't have any of the other causes...means it's from the smoking.

:) thanks.

and :(... what is leukoplakia?

i dont smoke, nor would i be in a relationship with someone who does. i just cant breathe and can not stand the smell.

i remeber my parents telling me when i was younger that my father one day said he wouldnt kiss my mother untill she quit becuase he didnt want to kiss an ashtray. this was a few years after they were married and before any of thier children were born.

Woo Hoo! Great news. I know it's a big decision to make, but after that choice is made, every day is a positive step until the day you can quit for good. It's the personal accomplishment of bettering your life and health, as the days go by. And, counting up the days, months, then years after you quit has got to be one of the best feelings of all.

And I didn't even mention the cash that you save! As an added incentive, add it up, to see how much you save each day you don't smoke, and then each month and year.
Congratulations on your decision to quit! :nana:

Thank you. :) I'm looking forward to be able to put it behind me. (hm, nice little paradox there...)

EEeeeh. :(

Best wishes...

Worst part is, I've gained this disease from not even a year of smoking, and it supposedly takes years to heal. :(

I don't smoke. Never have.

Unfortunately, I've been exposed to lots of second-hand smoke and wouldn't be too surprised if I get lung cancer someday. My mother died of small-cell lung cancer.

If so, what do you smoke?

I got to thinking about this because I know some people incorporate it into their play.

Burning with cigs...etc.

My attempt to quit a while back was only 3/4 hearted and ultimately was not meant to be at that time.

It's going to be my New Year's Resolution though.

Not that I've ever kept one of those though...at least not that I can remember...

I don't smoke but I do control the smoking of my slave when I am around because I have asthma.

I used to control the smoking habits of past subs also.

I do smoke.

The only way it was incorporated into our play is that I would smoke a clove at the beginning of a scene to fill the air with that pungent odor.

I haven't smoked since October 2009.

I quit in June, had a minor relapse in Oct, haven't smoked since.

Sometimes incorporate it into sub training by

Setting up a system of rewards and punishments if QUITTING smoking is a goal that my sub and I feel she should be working towards as part of making healthy lifestyle changes.

Yes, I smoke. Have done since I was about 17. Roll-ups usually, or Marlboro reds.

And I have no choice but to go completely against the grain here - the regrettable fact is...I really like smoking. I wouldn't do it otherwise.

And yes, I know the 10 million reasons why it's awful...sorry...

I smoke, however, cigarettes are not used in play... I hate getting burned by anything more than anything (I'd rather have hundreds of paper cuts all over my body before getting a sunburn or get splattered from grease while making dinner). And to be honest, I'm torn about quitting: I want to, I really do... but it's become as much a part of who I am, that I can't see myself as a non-smoker.

I quit a long while ago...wanted to be around top see my daughter grow up
As foor play ywes my mistress smokes and she enjoys carelessly allowing her hand with cigarette to come oh so close...even closer to the member it does get my attention, Im not allowed to mention it or move away...but thats why I see her

Euro-trash

to me it seems that smoking cigs is either for euro-trash and in this country white trash

I'm guessing from your username that you're 20 or 21 years old?

It wasn't always that way. When I was a kid, a LOT more people smoked. My mom has asthma, and there were a LOT of restaurants we couldn't eat in, because the smoke would waft over into the non-smoking section and set her asthma off. Even if smoking wasn't permitted inside a place, there were still clumps of people outside the doors everywhere you went - smoking used to be a lot more popular than it is now.

I don't say this because to show off that I'm older than you, I'm only about 8 years older, that's not much of a difference. I say it to reinforce how recent the trend toward non-smoking is. The fact that a 29-year-old remembers tons of smokers from her youth, and a 20-year-old thinks smoking is for white trash...well, that's a very big cultural change in a very short period of time.

I live in Virginia, which was a big tobacco state in the early days of the USA. We only just started a smoking ban in restaurants four months ago. Change is slow, but it is happening.

Hi Julie! By the way, thanks for all your help! Luv U!

I just started smoking at thirty five.Used to be a huge anti.
Hanging out with some kinky people changed everything about me!

Smoking

I'm not a IRL smoker..

However, as part of D/s play, being forced to smoke is very hot! Sometimes Mistress will make me do one after the other until I agree to the "next" activity on her list. One that I REALLY want to avoid! But being a non-smoker, we just can't keep it going and eventually i fall to Her next nefarious task...
