Do you own your body?

That's an opinion. I don't doubt that you believe it, but it is an opinion nonetheless.
It's 100% observable fact. If you don't believe it to be true, please feel free to pull out a fetus from a womb and try to take care of it and raise it without large amounts of medical staff and mechanisms.

Perhaps you have an at-home ICU or something we're not aware of.

The real question is: "does the fetus deserve human rights?"
Only if they pay rent and get a job.

But you're seriously all over the place with your arguments.

Just admit that you are more concerned about a soul and maybe you add a bit of religion on the side instead of trying to discuss something that is absurd

The solution of this is not political. There is zero chance anyone can change anyone's political view. This means the solution must be economic. Stop doing all business with companies residing in States that do not promote women's rights. Stop visiting states that do not promote women's rights. Stop talking with people that have a different view. Ultimately, this country must break up. The sooner this happens...the less women that have to die

So, genius, how do you have two sets of rights reside in one body?
I believe that’s the issue the anti-abortion rights crowd wants us to adjudicate, if we accept the hypothetical there are two sets of rights. For my part, I believe the rights of the woman always outweigh the rights of the fetus, and that greater autonomy is generally, but not necessarily, preferable for all people. I also believe that if possession of rights is predicated on some conditions, then it’s possible the fetus meets those conditions. But the fetus is biologically dependent on its mother, so there’s no question whose rights outweigh the other’s.

I am fully aligned with the woman always taking priority until birth. I will always defer that to anyone facing an unwanted pregnancy or anyone facing that choice.

When I was younger, I was under the impression that viability was a compromise that made sense to everyone and therefore would allow everyone to work on improving/subsidizing care and expenses involved for women who may choose to pursue that. However, that has proven to be a false belief and it's now obvious that the only pursuit is fetal personhood from conception due to religious belief. I will continue to lobby my representatives for full abortion rights and control over her own body for a woman up until birth. After birth, I will lobby for subsidies and support for maternal/baby care to those who need it. I am not swayed or discouraged by any ruling and if I'm able to support a woman seeking an abortion in any way, I will do so, regardless of where I'm located.

Let me put this in a nutshell. I'm not brilliant enough to know if a fetus is a person. But suppose it were. Can one person demand to live inside another person? Suppose I went up to some woman on the street and tried to crawl into her uterus. She'd have me arrested and rightly so. If the fetus wants to be a person, then get the hell out of there and go be a person.

It's 2022 and we're still reproducing the way humans did when they first walked the savannas of Africa. That's ridiculous. We need our great minds to get on this problem ASAP instead of inventing apps to order pizza.

And speaking of reproduction, take a good look at sex. 500,000 stories here and all still doing sex the same old ways. Come on folks, let's get creative here!

One point I'd like to revisit - for those of you who would like to draw a comparison between the draft and abortion, there are marked differences. Ones which, quite frankly blow my mind that they aren't realized.

Soldiers are paid. Their housing is provided. Their medical care as well. Same with food. And clothes. They also receive benefits after their service. For being in the service, they are compensated. And more.

Women are not paid for pregnancy, nor is their medical care provided. Nor food or shelter. All of these things she must provide for herself. Depending on one's insurance - and it varies wildly - she will have a bill for roughly $6k. Or more. There's no benefit package after giving birth either.

Another element of our imbalanced society where we can force women into service - without one bit of compensation or consideration. But not men.

And in many cases, they are compensated for their time lost with free educational credit.

They also enjoy things like housing benefits, employment aid and financial assistance. And even, just depending, a retirement package.

Well, there are several tax credits and benefit programs available for parents.

Soldiers get all the good stuff. Free flags. Free caskets. Your name on a wall and a hole in the ground.

Another point - the family of a soldier is the beneficiary of a life insurance policy provided as a benefit.

And maternal death is on the rise. Women face thousands of documented issues during pregnancy and giving birth, as well as life long bodily changes.

Can you minimize women any further?

Not even close in scope to the pay and benefits for the military. Not even in the same universe of close, in terms of money spent and range of benefits.

The comparison of the draft to pregnancy is silly. Yes, death, physical injury both temporary and permanent, and PTSD etc. are all possible traumatic outcomes of serving in the military. And yes, the state fails to accommodate women at a rate commensurate with the burden of pregnancy and childrearing, and pregnancy is also potentially traumatic. But trying to make a one-to-one comparison of the two to rationalize forced pregnancy is gross and dishonest.

Can you minimize dead soldiers any further? Sweet Jesus what is wrong with you? This is like comparing Native American genocide to American chattel slavery or prison rape to date rape. They are both bad. Trying to parse which is worse is idiotic.

Yet the comparison has been made. Repeatedly.

By you.

I'd like to own some bodies. Recreational purposes only of course. Ok maybe help with chores too but mostly for fun.

Pregnancy really is just nothing to you apparently.
WTF is wrong with you. I'm fiercely pro-choice and always have been. I'm against government taking away any freedoms from any citizen. Where the fuck do you get, "Pregnancy really is just nothing to you apparently." from that?
