Django unchained is easily the most overrated movie since

Addendum to other comments:

-Tarrantino is a monster among a bunch of gnats. I’m not questioning his ability, only shitting on this particular film.

-The Hurt Locker was tremendous. Brave in its insistence for patience (all the more reason for a female Director to win a landmark award). It’s not a movie like any other you’ve seen. And it most definitely had a whole lot to say beneath the quiet tension.

I loved it. And concur for sure it was the very best of that year. If not many others.

You're out of your mind.

It was 2 hours of crap with little to no character development.

The entire script was probably 10 pages.

BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD Meh. Nothing new about condescension I guess.

Really? Condescension... as in accumulative water that bleeds? Or as in, "Don't get... condessssending wiwph me, bro" (Brad Pitt, True Romance).

I definitely did not view it in a degrading manner whatsoever. If anything, it made me feel like a pussy for paying rent.

If you get an opportunity to watch this:Scarlet Road. You'd love it and it's so much better. If you're in Canada you can watch it on the CBC/Passionate Eye website.

I will do that! You shot straight so I'll respect the rec...

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK: It never occurred to me to see this. I have a fear of pleh pleh. Maybe it's worth a shot though.

So, I DID watch it since I posted and...

It fucking KILLED!

It's pretty rare that my expectations get fired up, and I don't end up disappointed. This is one of those rare occasions. It completely delivered.

There's a ryhthm to the entirety of it that I had not expected. The shots, cuts, movement, dialogue meter, delivery, soundtrack... exceptional.

I knew I would like it for it's content (and names involved). I had not expected the execution to be quite as stellar as it was.

David O Russell is now officially a buy for me. He never fails. Only gets better.

Best film of the year. Entertaining on a level all its own.
