I'm really, really sorry.

I read your profile. Interesting. I started violin lessons at 8, switched to flute at 13 because the cute guys were in band and not orchestra. I played throughout college. Oh and I have a Masters in Educational Technology. I never got along with the IT at my school. I wonder why.

What's in that gift box?

So I told this to my wife the other night when she said, "hey, can you do the dishes tonight?"
She turned and looked at me. Picked up the chefs knife and said, "I can fix that..." :eek: :eek: :eek:

Good morning. The thread doesn't show up often. When I returned to Lit, I resurrected what had been an active thread. It was later that I realized many of the posters had left Lit.

I worked my way through college playing in a band and teaching guitar at a music store which created a hectic but fun schedule. We had a keyboard player who also played flute allowing us to expand into some interesting musical styles. Too bad you weren't around to sit in with the band.
You'd get along with this IT guy :)

Nice gift.

I didn't sit in with any jazz groups. My brain is not wired for jazz. I have younger distant cousins who are jazz musicians, but not me. I played in an orchestra from 6th through 12th grades as well as the school band and All-City band. I got the opportunity to play with professional musicians when the guy who played flute had an accident and they needed someone to to play with them on a parade grandstand. One teacher Herman Morgan knew me from the orchestra and All-City band and called me. I had to get a union card and that was exciting.


The problem with our IT was me. I had a computer crash in my classroom and I told him what was wrong with it. Bad move. I had a Gateway computer at home that was a lemon. A tech sent me a list of error codes. Eventually Gateway asked that I send the PC back to them. Whatever they did worked because it never crashed again. For an entire year I couldn't access my school email. He tried to embarrass me in a faculty meeting by saying he'd given me a temporary password. Ever the quick wit, I replied, "you must have emailed it to me". The meeting ended after everyone stopped laughing.

LOL at the quick comeback. Sometimes you've just got to mess with the IT guys, then of course flirt to smooth things over.
