You should look into it more.

The USA and many European nations have had full run experiments in small cities or one of their respective counties/territories etc.

All failed in that absolutely none of the idealistic predictions panned out. Because people are assholes. UBI doesn't spur on a renaissance of innovation, discovery and productivity.

What actually happens?? Much like with min wage, you just set an inflated baseline zero for these services. Everyone gets 1500/mo for rent? Guess what the rent price on broke as fuck shit holes in the hood/trailer park just got set at?? Whatever they were +1500....LOL

You can't artificially inflate the value of nothing to = a living. All you do is artificially make the baseline number for poverty bigger.

Now in the case where people were just given cash or vouchers? It gets even worse. A very small number of people invested their money in some way. Most people just fucked it off on consumption (eating out, entertainment, drugs, partying etc) and material goods...toys, electronics.

It's just not that much money.

This isn't shocking. Look at lotto winners. When you give people who don't understand money a shitload of it?? Damn near every one of them goes full idiot mode, does NOTHING to protect themselves or their future, and blows it all on the dumbest fucking shit.

This is why throwing money at people who are TERRIBLE with their money, doesn't fix poverty.
