I agree, sis!!! Being lied to really chaps my ass and I will go away immediately!! Honesty and respect go a long damn way!!
Someday I'll learn.... maybe!

Unfortunately, I've experienced this lying form a few times too many myself!! EVEN AFTER I told them... honesty is the most important thing!!! ~sigh~

I have the priviledge of saying that I tell the truth to the point that it almost hurts... in the process, the ones that don't matter leave.

I've also been told when finally meeting in person that I talk myself down too much... guess it's a defense mechanism. That way they can be pleasantly surprised... ~soft smile~

Um, Cate, I have been lied to so many times I cannot keep count anymore. We all say that we are being truthful, until the day of reckoning. Then the truth becomes apparent. Been there, done that.

So, shall we meet in that little place by the bay? (laffing gently)

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

(I forget chapter and verse, I belive it is John. And please do not take offense that I use a quote from the New Testament, its just a lovely verse. The word "love" was substituted for the original "charity".)

Well, at least we managed to get to a little over 60 pages in a thread dedicated to defining love before someone quoted Paul's second letter to the church at Corinth. ;)

Still, this creaking agnostic agrees that much of what Paul wrote - in this instance - still works.

:rose: Thanks! I agree it works.

Question for the day:

What makes you swoon?
More practicality from Yankee!! I live in my head, you must know this by now! I can't just give you an easy answer here, I must over analyze and beat it to death first.

Swoon is just a great word! Conjurs up a tingle in me just saying or even thinking of the word. Physically what makes me swoon is having him come up from behind and embrace me, nuzzle and kiss my neck and press into me or pull me to him. A closeness followed by a kiss, the kind that make me go weak in the knees, but actually by that time, I would be weak in the knees. mmmmm nice question!

Intellectually I swoon for intelligence and honesty and a masive amount of humor. Although you can't get me laughing too much, or there won't be physical swooning!!

I can't belive I said that!

edit: and even more information now.... I'd do just about anything for peppermint stick ice cream!

And you questioned me for being willing to swap t-shirts? ;)

So, to get my inventory ready, I'm going to need some mystery chocolates that are better than Godiva and some peppermint stick ice cream. I guess the dungeon for the Inquisition will have to be air-conditioned. :D

Me question you? Hardly, but there is absolutely no comparison between swapping a t-shirt and peppermint stick ice cream! Are we clear now? LOL:p

I don't recall suggesting that swapping a t-shirt would have the same effect as offering the ice cream. But as I have a much larger supply of t-shirts, and they keep better.... ;)
