Thank you for reinforcing my views about who gets the breaks in life. I realize I'm not exactly the neediest person when it comes to being able to pay for ones education, but as I mentioned in my application, I have always had to pay for all of my education out of both my own and my parents pockets and it would have been nice, just once, to have received some aid which didn't come with an interest payment.
Sure, the money would not have covered the cost of one class, but having to pay only 1/3 of the cost of a class would have been a nice change for once.
I'm sure some single parent who is just trying to make ends meet while going back to school, or someone from the ghetto who wants to make something of themselves but can't because of their circumstances, or someone from any of a number of protected groups was chosen as the recipient of the award. So be it.
Just don't come around asking for a handout after I graduate next year. You couldn't be bothered to help me out in the smallest way possible, I can't be bothered to help you out.
